Patrick Willis is as far on his way to being a HOF as you can be after 3 seasons in the NFL. 3 years, 3 pro bowls, 3 All-Pro selections >>> 1 great rookie season.

this thread was a good study on the fickleness of fans, and just how much its all about "what have you done for me lately". Willis has started a little slow, Posey and Lincecum won the WS, and all the sudden Willis cant hold a candle to them after being King of the Webzone since 2007?

as individual performers, its still very close. Lincecum has more hardware, but imo being named All-Pro your first 3 seasons in the NFL is just as hard as winning the CY in your first 3 seasons (which Lincecum isnt going to do).

I beg to differ on this one. To be All-pro at LB, there are 3-4 spots for it every year. Whereas the Cy Young Award only has two spots per year. Therefore, the Cy Young Award is MUCH harder than being All-pro.

Just my two cents.

Obviously winning the CY award in your first two full time seasons is MUCH harder than being AP at a LB spot 3 times . Not even close.

Dude. Just ignore anything Niner99 says. LOL Had to borrow that line from Crzy.

get outta my thread john. its for 60 and under.

If it is for someone who has any clue then you should remove yourself. This comment was one of your dumbest among the thousands you have posted.

do you know what a real All-Pro 1st team selection is? its when you get the AP, PFWA, and TSN all-pro selections. that universally means you are voted the very BEST at your position in the NFL. not one of, THE best. Willis got the AP, PFWA, and TSN all-pro selection for MLB in 2007 and 2009.

winning the CY award means you were the best pitcher in your LEAGUE. so how on earth is getting selected twice at the BEST of your position in the ENTIRE NFL, not just conference, not as good?

Obviously once again you are out on an island all by yourself as very few agree with you. You should be used to that though as it happens all the time.

This debate is just stupid its so one sided.

The Giants need to win the WS again soon or else 99 and John are gonna get multiple self inflicted facepalm bruises on their foreheads.

Crzy may be crazy but he was also a very wise man when he said...............

Now this is something I need to do a better job of doing!!!!!!!!!

when the 3 major voting sources say "youre the best player in the NFL at your position" twice, and the AP says "youre the best pitcher in your league" twice, i dont see how this is SO one-sided.

but since youre the most close-minded sports fan ive ever heard whos obsessed with being right, and knowing more than everyone else, im not going to spend too much time arguing about this.
Buster Posey.

With Willis the Niners have won nothing. Zero. Without him this year the 9ers would be at best 2 games different. Without Lincecum the Giants are a crap team. With him they are the World Champions. Enough said.

2 Cy Youngs
3 All Stars
3 years leading league in Ks
4 Post Season Wins
2 WS wins

When Willis puts anything near this and wins a SB talk to me. Otherwise.. everyone will laugh at you like always.

once again, you dont get the point. you just love to misconstrue things and then personally attack me over them.

the argument was that 2 CY awards in 3 seasons isnt a huge difference to being named the best at your position in the entire NFL by the AP, NFWA, and TSN 2 times in 3 seasons. i agree with you that Lincecum is better, i just think everyone is now making too big of a gap between the 2.

just like you completely misconstrued my example of using John Bowker to showcase that just because you do really well in the minors doesnt mean youll be a good major leaguer. you instead thought i was comparing Brandon Belt to John Bowker.

if youre going to insult me, at least make it over something i was actually saying.
Niners99 . Im done talking to you or responding to you. YOU are not worth it as I am close to getting a major warning. You resort to making age comments. You ask personal questions which are none of your f**king business. You get laughed on by just about everyone but somehow just like to fire back at me.

So... go ahead and put your last word in. Im done with you.

well Mr. Spacely, if youd calm down and stop taking other peoples opinions so personally, maybe things like this wouldnt escalate.
It's not Willis' fault the head honchos have drove this organization into the ground. The only difference I see is Timmy's in a much better team, which gave him the opportunity to showcase his stuff in the spotlight. Plus you can't compare a pitcher's value to a linebacker's value. That's like comparing an All-Pro QB to a gold glove short-stop. The QB will always get the nod... unless maybe that short-stop hits like Barry Bonds, but that hasn't happened.
not to mention that even casual niners fans wouldnt recognize Willis if he walked past them on the streets because football isnt a faces sport.

lincecums face/hair is the face of san fran sports
Ross >>>>>>>> Willis is probably a better argument right now
