No doubt he was lights out in the playoffs. But he happened to play on a team that was better than any of Willis' teams so far so he had the luxury of being ABLE to be lights out in the playoffs. Who's to say Willis wouldn't play some dominant ball in the tourney if he had the opportunity to?

Two Cy Youngs are a greater accomplishment than anything Willis has done.

Exactly. That's why i said it was a stronger argument before this year when he was coming off 2 cy youngs, not when he's coming off a year where his ERA was nearly a run higher. If you're talking career then the 2 cy young's are still relevant. But if you're just going off of their most recently completed season (2010 MLB season for timmy, the 2009 NFL season for Willis), then that factors into how you analyze it

World Series Ring is a greater accomplishment than Two Cy Youngs

Patrick Willis is as far on his way to being a HOF as you can be after 3 seasons in the NFL. 3 years, 3 pro bowls, 3 All-Pro selections >>> 1 great rookie season.
this thread was a good study on the fickleness of fans, and just how much its all about "what have you done for me lately". Willis has started a little slow, Posey and Lincecum won the WS, and all the sudden Willis cant hold a candle to them after being King of the Webzone since 2007?
as individual performers, its still very close. Lincecum has more hardware, but imo being named All-Pro your first 3 seasons in the NFL is just as hard as winning the CY in your first 3 seasons (which Lincecum isnt going to do).

I beg to differ on this one. To be All-pro at LB, there are 3-4 spots for it every year. Whereas the Cy Young Award only has two spots per year. Therefore, the Cy Young Award is MUCH harder than being All-pro.
Just my two cents.

But in P. Willie's defense, he's widely considered to be the best at his position. Sure "there are 3-4 spots" but Pat usually takes the top spot.

Before this season i would agree Willis was the best inside LB. But he has looked pretty ordinary this season. Sure a big play here and there but not beastly like we are used to.

theres only 2 All-Pro spots for MLB. 1st team all pro and 2nd team all pro. hes made 1st twice, 2nd once.

willis is a great player one of the best at his positions but it is much much easier to find a 3-4 LB then a great catcher who can hit throw a rocket while making good calls

Obviously winning the CY award in your first two full time seasons is MUCH harder than being AP at a LB spot 3 times . Not even close.
Dude. Just ignore anything Niner99 says. LOL Had to borrow that line from Crzy.

If it is for someone who has any clue then you should remove yourself. This comment was one of your dumbest among the thousands you have posted.
