Barrows just broke down the 90 man roster.
http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2013/05/ninety-niners-breakdown-of-49ers-offseason-roster.html
Based on that, I looked into my crystal ball(s) and came up with the following 53!!!!!
Quarterbacks: 3
Colin Kaepernick
Colt McCoy
Scott Tolzien
B.J. Daniels( Practice Squad )
Running backs: 3
Frank Gore
Kendall Hunter
LaMichael James
Marcus Lattimore ( PUP )
Fullbacks: 2
Bruce Miller
Jason Schepler( FB/TE/ST )
Wide receivers: 5
Michael Crabtree
Anquan Boldin
A.J. Jenkins ( I think AJ and Lockette make huge strides this summer and get the chance to be the #3 WR until Mario returns )
Quinton Patton ( Patton will show his worth and be the backup punt returner behind LMJ )
Ricardo Lockette
Manningham ( PUP )
Chuck Jacobs ( Practice Squad )
Tight ends: 3
Vernon Davis
Vance McDonald
Garrett Celek
MarQueis Gray ( Practice Squad )
Offensive tackles: 3
Joe Staley
Anthony Davis
Kenny Wiggins ( big leap this year )
Carter Bykowski ( Practice Squad )
Luke Marquardt ( PUP )
Offensive guards: 3
Mike Iupati
Alex Boone
Daniel Kilgore
Centers: 2
Jonathan Goodwin
Joe Looney ( C/G )
Defensive ends: 5
Justin Smith
Ray McDonald
Tank Carradine
Quinton Dial
Lawrence Okoye ( too much upside to expose to PS, I think he makes strides this summer and is a backup ST player who does not suit up on Sundays )
Nose tackles: 2
Glenn Dorsey ( NT/DE )
Ian Williams
Lamar Divens ( Practice Squad )
Outside linebackers: 4
Aldon Smith
Ahmad Brooks
Parys Haralson
Corey Lemonier ( I think Cam and Fleming will be gone, not sure if either can be stashed on the PS, if so, I think they'll get taken anyway )
Inside linebackers: 4
Patrick Willis
NaVorro Bowman
Dan Skuta
Nick Moody
Nathan Stupar( Practice Squad )
Cornerbacks: 6
Carlos Rogers
Tarell Brown
Chris Culliver
Nnamdi Asomugha
Perrish Cox ( stays to help with those slot WR's )

Darryl Morris ( Practice Squad )
Safeties: 5
Donte Whitner
Eric Reid
Craig Dahl
C.J. Spillman
Trenton Robinson
Kickers: 1
Phil Dawson
Punters: 1

I do not think he will be ready to play by September. Possibly late October or early November is when we could see him return.

Also, don't be too surprised if BJ Daniels makes the roster : 1) based on report he has been performing quite well so far and 2) more importantly it might make sense to have a back-up QB that can run the Pistol as opposed to having pure in-pocket passers only.

I don't think Kyle Williams gets cut, not only because of his value as a punt returner but because he is the most experienced slot WR we have. If im not mistaken didn't LMJ have a difficult time with punt returns last year...or was he returning punts after the injury to Williams? Maybe i've been spending to much time in front of the xbox this off season but was Parrish Cox returning punts after Williams got hurt? As long as he is ready to play i'd take Williams over Jenkins, especially with Manningham on the PUP. Whats really going to be interesting is next year if Lattimore is ready to go and Hunter returns to form. No way we keep 4 running backs. Decisions decisions....

already have colt mcoy for that. i would be more comfortable with him having an emergency start, than a rookie.

Yup, I was really contemplating keeping Kyle, but I like the size/speed combo of Ricardo. This is contingent on Jimbo feeling confident in LMJ, Cox and possibly Patton to return punts. I really hope James makes strides this year in that roll.
As far as Dixon, I was surprised me made it last year, Im done with him. The only reason I could see keeping him around is short yardage situations, but I don't think he would be better than Miller in that roll. I would like to see Rathman take Millers game to the next level and groom him for those snaps.

I hope Marquies Gray, Quinton Dial and Lawrence Okoye and Marcus Cooper make the roster
Gray has freakish athletic ability , if we could get some work from him as the #3 TE and H-Back , he could give us an added dimension
Cooper , at 6-2 , and a 4.4 time in the 40 , this guy could be brought along slowly and be a consistent contributor by mid season
Dial has the size to be a terror against the run and keep our ILB's clean by occupying 2 blockers
I'm really curious about Okoye, if he can give us a few snaps from the DE spot , and come in as an extra blocking TE or FB, he can help keep our starters fresh and develop into a real gem , he has the size , strength and speed to be a terror on both side of the ball ...I'm rooting for him to make the squad

I don't agree that its that obvious that Tolzien is going to be cut. Tolzien plays a very special role on the 49ers . . . he is the scout team quarterback. Apparently he is very good at it too. Last year someone named Darin Gantt wrote on September 3, 2012, "The 49ers didn't necessarily keep the best player in the preseason as their third quarterback. They kept the one that could help them the most in the regular season."
Also Matt Barrows pointed out, at about the same time, that "the disparity in preseason stats doesn't explain why the 49ers kept Scott Tolzien over Josh Johnson as their third behind Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick. Tolzien has taken his role as the scout team QB in practice as his niche. . . . The 49ers trust him as an extra set of eyes, and he's good enough to simulate Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford and so on in practice."
So, the question now probably is whether BJ Daniels ability to simulate Russell Wilson is more valuable than Tolzien's ability to simulate Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford.
