Crazy huh!? Osgood was brought back after initially getting cut (he and Morris have been outstanding as gunners), Ventrone (despite not a single snap with us) obtained a roster spot also for ST-only and TJE has been a decent run stuffer. I think Dobbs may go now before TJE at this juncture.

I think the beat writers knew what they were talking about. The 49ers clearly value special teams and certain depth, saw a few standouts in preseason with TJE.

They were spot on on TJE and Ventrone! I got Ventrone but TJE, I had no clue about (very limited insight on that one, even watching the games). They were wrong about the gunners and several others as well. Cox and Brock started out very poor and like I highlighted in the pre season, Morris was an absolute stud...now he and Spillman (and Osgood) are lighting it up. ST sadly, is still a huge issue for us...coverage unit has greatly improved, not very good in blocking in the return game and we certainly have next to nothing as far as a dynamic KO/PR specialist. Let's hope James can somehow become that kind and grow in confidence and explosion and IQ (no fumbles, please!).
