Nnamdi Asomugha was a 49er

Oh yes in college, so he will be good safety in the pros...
I wouldn't get too excited, 49ers fans. He was the overall tied-for-101st-ranked CB in the NFL of 2012, per Pro Football Focus. 101st out of 113 total for overall ranking. 103rd if sorted by coverage ranking. Better hope he's depth and you guys are drafting DBs in a few weeks.

Thanks Roland. Appreciate your concern. No guarantees he even makes the final 53 . . . unless he regains some of that 2010 form

Our CB's (namely Cully) got abused in the playoffs but otherwise had a good year. All we really need is a FS and some d-line depth.

Otherwise we're in great shape.

They did, but it wasn't cully giving up most of the big plays. Cully gave up a couple plays in the superbowl, but guys like Whitner, Rogers, and Brown got beat more than he did throughout the playoffs. Whitner is a huge reason why we lost the superbowl. That deep td pass to jones in superbowl was whitners fault, not cullys. I believe Whitner was suppose to have deep zone on that play, at least that's what cully claimed after the game and I believe him considering how often Whitner was f**kin up.
He was on the Eagles and used wrong. Those two things together = garbage. He's on a team where he will be used right and surrounded by a talented team and locker room. Not worried about that bs ranking.
^^^Most of us here are aware that he was an epic bust in Philly. If he isn't good enough we won't have to pay him a single cent.

I think you should be more worried about the Seahags DB Adderall supply.
In Harbaalke I trust.
^^ It's widely known that Nnamdi was not used correctly in Philly. He needs to be in press coverage. Too often he was asked to play zone, off-man, or in the slot. He can still blanket a receiver with his length and athleticism if we let him bump and run.

Plus, if you think Janoris Jenkins was the 101st best CB last year, you're crazy. I'm sure there's some credence to that chart, but there seems to be some significant holes.

Also, if you don't count the playoffs, you could argue that Culliver was better than Rogers or Brown on our team. FWIW

Yeah....because we had no idea he struggled in Philly.

We just thought Philly let him go and the Niners signed him for 1.3 mil because they really like us.

lol dude did you come in here to hate on an underachieving CB who we signed for depth for morsels?

Can't stand us being excited? Does this mean you feel the offseason championship is slipping from your fingers? HAHAHAHa

Us 49er fans have been watching football too, believe it or not, over the last two years; we have not been encased in ice, or comatose. We are well aware of what happened to Asomugha and the Eagles over the last two seasons.

We are also well aware of the defensive scheme he was asked to play in.

Yup. How are those dumb asses going to remember the play call without their precious drugs?

It seems after Richard Sherman got busted and had to quit he went full retard. lol
