I know a lot of people who discount the Seahawks but they shouldn't. We need to beat them to get into the playoffs and those big CBs in Seattle dominate players. I would bet the farm that Baalke has seen what needs to be done and will bring in a number of WR candidates that will be in the size range of Lockette. Kyle Williams-sized guy not named Welker will only be an occasional contributor. Gotta have size to succeed. Speed/quick alone doesn't get it done.

I disagree. You can't stop what you can't catch, one of the best antidote's for big, physical defensive backs are small, shifty, super quick wide receivers that can seamlessly move into their cuts. You can have a bigger CB, but generally they won't be as fluid in the hips and while they can keep up with a WR in terms of straight line speed, smaller, quicker receivers can be an absolute handful for to them to handle once they get into their routes.

I agree. Tavon Austin, for example, might turn those big corners inside out.

The other possibility to have big physical TE to go with Vernon Davis, like a Kelce or an Ertz, and just wear them down to stubs.

Lockette the rocket can blast past secondaries, catching bombs from Kaepernick! I can see it now.

Actually, I think the key to the Seahawks is going to be numbers. I'm not sure you can beat them with just size or just speed. I think they'll use more multiple receiver sets because those corners can only guard one guy at a time. And, bunching everything up right in the middle plays right into the Seahawks strength - they're big and physical. I bet we see Harbaugh and Roman work in some spread multiple receiver sets and spread them out.

Ginn is an untestricted free agent, and he won't be back.

Speaking of Tavon Austin, I've actually seen a mock where the 49ers get him. He's being favorably compared to Percy Harvin in his skill set/abilities. Ya think that might make the 49ers a bit more dangerous?

The only wr I want in the 1st is Patterson, other than that I don't see us drafting a wr in the 1st unless we trade up or someone drops

I fully agree esp. if you have ANY elements of a true WCO. We haven't had that big-bodied WR since TO. And that said, how can anyone argue that when our very own defense was torched by bigger WR's who just flat-out, out-muscled our DB's. We struggle against, tall, physical TE's and WR's and ironically, that's what we need as well!

PS: We have enough micro-WR's and two of them are on I.R. and those big bodies not only will help compliment the WR group (esp. Crabtree and the slot WR) but also help in the run-game.

No, I think the glass is half full, as he just gulped down half a glass of happy juice. Either that, or the daily Susweel sacasm detector test indicates that it is time to change batteries.
