Harbugh just said, "The decision has been made. David Akers is our kicker."
So we have no other options.

I've noticed that too on every kick attempt. I know nothing about kicking but can't help but wonder if it has something to do with the hook to the left.

he just saying that cause we keep winning, he is done after the superbowl, would be horrible if we lose because of him.

It really is amazing how much confidence Akers looks like he lost in himself. Last year he was arguably in the top 3 kickers list. I don't know what happened to that guy.

I bet if we change holders it would cure whatever's wrong with Akers. Let Alex do it.

I think changing holders would be a good idea. Maybe it'll help Akers psychologically.

I've seen Akers a long time, having grown up near where the Eagles have their training camp. I saw him as a rookie. He drives the ball. Always did. He is obviously hurt. All the kicks are the same, he gets decent leg but the kicks fade left at the end because he has no power. He is not driving the ball. He is hurt. He needs to be out of there and we should seriously be thinking of getting a new kicker
IN FACT--- look at the angle of Akers and not the angle of the ball. He is usually much lower with a high leg snap. He is standing straight up and down and just sort of gliding his leg through the ball, hoping it goes straight long enough

Akers is a total head case at this point. Over the last few months he has missed left and missed right. It's not like all the misses are the result of the same flaw in his mechanics..
The 49ers are at a point that they just have to go for it on 4th down outside the 12 - 15 yd line. The likelyhood of Akers making a kick outside of 30 yds is 50/50 at best. A good NFL kicker should be nearly automatic inside 40. Akers is only automatic when kicking extra points. The way his game has been going, he may start missing those as well.
I can't recall ever being so down on a 49er kicker, not even Owen Pochman or Jose Cortez were this bad.
I hope for all our sakes that every time the 49ers get into + territory they get 6 and not have to count on Akers.

the niners lose all momentum when this turd misses FG's, i can't stand him, mainly because he rejected signing my Jersey at the Pro Bowl last year... still pisses me off to this day
