what went so wrong in Seattle?

Anyone who got to sneak some peeks at the SEA/Rams game, would have had a great idea how to beat these jokers. With a strong front 4, Fisher blitzed up the gut, from the corners, Safety blitzes , and kept wilson off his game most of day. At one point Rams had 7 sacks on wilson. Problem was they couldn't get O rolling so they continued to give SEA more and more chances. Long got to wilson 3 times at least. So there is a tape that JH et al can watch to see how to stop seattle. Bad thing was they didn't stop lynch, and he killed the rarms.

RW was sacked 6 times and SB was sacked 0 times

good news is ...
Seahawks managed to overcome some adversity, win the game AND have some good film to study to shore up some weaknesses

Seattle had just come off of destroying a couple insignificant teams where we just had won a tiring, emotional game IN New England then had to travel all the way back to Seattle. Seattle's confidence was at an all-time high and our defense was probably still tired and trying to recover from the New England game.

Thank God for the bye week, our players will get a chance to rest up a little bit and the coaches will have some time to lay out some solid gameplans for any possible scenarios.

This is why Justin was sorely missed in that game in Seattle (although I will say, I think we would've still lost). This is where Wilson's height is a disadvantage as well. Nothing we can do about Lynch because he's going to steamroll no matter what. With Haralson on this team, I think we would've had a better chance with holding Lynch. Looks like the Rams pretty much game planned against Wilson like they did against Kap except the run game was there for Seattle.

The Rams are extremely well coached. Not saying we aren't, but Fischer has a TON more experience than Harbaugh in the NFL.

Basically, you have to corral the midget and keep him in the pocket. Don't let him run around. The Rams have a good secondary also.

It seems like Fisher has put more focus in trying to beat the division foes more so than any other team.

Hopefully our guys can execute just as well. Obviously this is where the offense is going to have to step up to keep the defense well rested. But yes, keep the tree stump in the pocket and close his passing lanes.

Unlike last year, the 49ers haven't won back-to-back road games this season; Minnesota/New York, New Orleans/St. Louis, New England/Seattle.

What people don't understand is that the 49ers had to tough out one of the most ROUGHEST closing schedules of any team in the NFL. -Which is why getting the bye after everything we went through has been nothing short of amazing; not to mention the that fact that Colin went through it as a starter 5-2 is pretty impressive within itself.

Seahawks were pampered with back-to-back home games within all of December, probably being the only reason they even went 11-5 in the first place.

Yes, but if you look at the other side of this coin, Seattle also had one of the roughest opening schedules that consisted of a majority of games on the road. It goes both ways.

We ran into a Seattle team that was playing with everything on the line. They could clinch a playoff spot and possibly catch the Niners in the division standings. It didn't help that the Niners had already shot an emotional wad the previous week against New England.

Short and sweet? There's a very fine line between good teams in the NFL. Some are good on some weeks. Some aren't as good. Seattle had that "edge" on us. They took advantage of it. They whuped us in every phase of the game. It wasn't pretty.

Now, if these two face each other again in, say, an NFC Championship matchup at Candlesmistake Park in three weeks? You really think the Niners are going to play as poorly as they did up at Seattle?

Yep. Our win in October was more important cause it won us the division.

We won the division and a bye week since then! Heck it's almost 2013
