Does Alex Smith have any Trade Value???

Why would KC trade a 2nd round pick, let alone sign Smith, after the debacle of signing another QB who was a product of a system in Cassel?
Mike Sando made an interesting comment, saying that Greg Roman will get a HC gig and he will bring in Alex Smith. That makes sense.

Cassel is garbage, Alex is not

Smith goes back to college....

I think Roman gets a college HC gig, not NFL.

Depends where he gets the gig though. If he went to Carolina obviously Smith is not coming with him.

Cassel got exposed when he didn't have a great team and system around him. He was 11-5 with the Pats

Also had a very Alex like season that one year they made the playoffs. Run game and defense regress and he's back to being Cassel.

If Roman goes with Alex he will be fine

Roman gets a HC gig he will push for Alex if he needs a QB.

So how does Smith have any trade value if his success hinges on so many "ifs"

Which is a scenario that won't happen.
