It is sad that that matters to people when evaluating NFL players, especially in a game like football, but I it does. That being said I have been thinking that if the 49ers win a SB while Frank is still here, he's going to go to the HOF. If we plays just 3 more years and has moderate success he'll easily be to 25 in rushing yards in the NFL all time. Playing for only one team, and a ring to boot? HOF, easily.

I am not denying Gore has been amazing, and is still amazing. But I think it is OK to acknowledge that with the way our offense is struggling, we needed him to fishing that run, and he simply didnt have the legs/stamina to do it.
Your right, any running back worth his salt should be able to juke one of the best safeties in the game out of his shoes when that safety sees him coming from 10 yards away and his one and only responsibility is to not get juked
And wasn't gore hurt at the time with his bruised ribs. Hard to juke somebody when you can't breathe. The best juker was Barry sanders where he turned the guy around 2 or 3 times before he blew by him.

Yes, he was. Considering that fact it was amazing he was even in position to be able to be called out for not scoring on that run.

but, does anybody else think Frank should have been able to finish that first long run? The one that ended up with a pick...
I love frank, and his heart, and his vision are unparalleled. But he definitely does not have the legs to finish a long run anymore. Hunter probably scores if he takes that same hand off and gets that same blocking.
No. I don't think that and Hunter would not have been able to finish it either. Dude had bruised his ribs earlier in the game and still made all that happen. He was obviously not right but was still explosive enough to make that long run happen in the first place. A rib injury would make many of us unable to jog.
There is a reason Gore has the numbers he does, and others don't. Now lock this fake and gay thread

I think frank still has three in the Tank. I think he will get in also. He is 29, But he is having probally his best season ever, and the Oline is young and under contract. 3 more good seasons and he gets in. We ride him like we did this week, the rest of the season, and he should be in MVP talks.

Just wow. Rewatched the game and I have never seen Gore run this fresh this late in the year. He was sharp.

Yes he is. My favorite game during the down years was when gore had his long runs against seattle and holmgren had a meltdown. Looked like he was gonna have a cardiac arrest when frank broke the secknd 1.

He is arguably our best RB of all time, and we had some great backs in our history. So it is safe to say he is at least top 15, maybe top 10.

Wow gore actually looked quicker than Hunter this game. He really needed the rest.
