I said, ON THAT PLAY, hunter would have scored. Watch the replay, the hole was huge. Hunter would have hit the hole, but had the legs to take it all the way (probably to the left corner of the end zone). Of course this is my opinion.
Don't misunderstand what I said in my first post. Frank's heart and vision are UNPARALLELED.
Kendal Hunter has never even had a touchdown run longer than 17 yards in his entire career
Whatever. Missing the point.
So the point is Kendall is faster than Gore. No doubt, but if speed was all it took Carl Lewis would be alot richer right now. To say another player would have done better on any play is irrelevant because you dont know for sure like you said his vision is top notch you cant say the same about Hunter yet. Gore is 29 years old and looking as good as ever he is putting up career numbers in YPC now that he has a line worthy of his skills.

If he wins a championship, yes...if not, then no...it's just the name of the game.

As far as Offense goes its
Montana
Rice
Young
Gore.
Name another 49er on Offense that is not listed there that carried his team through mediocrity and failure like Frank did? Frank was the only player worth watching on this roster for a good while. Now that the team is beter he is still doing it. Having the best season of his career thus far this season.
Its too bad RB's dont get MVP anymore. Frank keeps it up, and we end with a good record at the end of the season, he would deserve to be in that arguement.

While I agree with you that a title would boost his G(10)OAT status, I don't think it's as much of a necessity for backs as for QBs. Berry Sanders is in the conversation of greatest running backs of all time, don't hear his lack of rings often mentioned as a weakness to his credentials, often the contrary, that he held up a s**tty team. But that's all you hear when the name Marino gets tossed into an argument of great QBs...

I am not denying Gore has been amazing, and is still amazing. But I think it is OK to acknowledge that with the way our offense is struggling, we needed him to fishing that run, and he simply didnt have the legs/stamina to do it.

It depends on how you evaluate a "Top 10 Niner" of all time. Best at their position, game heroics, stats?
Without a lot of input I don't think I could answer that.
Off the top of my head and in no particular order - good for a starting point.
1 Rice
2 Montana
3 Young
4 Lott
5 BY
6 RC Owens
7 Wilcox
8 ?
9?
10?
I don't put Dion Sanders - only one season.
Dwight Clark was good BUT outside of the "Catch" I don't see enough to get him in he top 10
Fred Dean - Did he play long enough for us?
JT - would have been a STAR on every team in the league BUT what are the criteria to make it to Top 10?
Barton - one of our best OLine ever.

The answer to me has been Frank. A few reasons, I kinda felt we'd see him in a limited rule and start to see hunter really take over the carries and success at HB.
But honestly, he's looked like a more diverse back, dare I say, EVOLVED back this season. Maybe I wasn't paying attention in years before, but he looks better than he's ever looked. I know he's not as fast, but he still as quick and seems smarter and has a great grasp of this offense.
Skill aside, frank is the type of guy you fight for. He's a hard worker, non-flashy, and a humble heart.
Is he a top-10 49er? Here's what I think
1.) ..... Too early to say, his career isn't over, and I'd have to gather a list to compare to other 49ers really.
2.) So this is clearly objective and anyone who makes that claim would have to set some variables on what it means to be a great 49er. Is it purely performance/stats?
3.) Here's Franks peace of 49er history. During the dark ages of the 2000s he was the 49ers. He Never complained, never wined, never got into arguments with inferior players. Just showed up, game after game, lose after loss. He is pure. A candle through a dark cave.
Because he carried this franchise through that era, and I don't think there is any player that we could even compare to his endeavor, and the fact that he's still playing strong on a team that could get a ring in while he's still suited up, I think there's argument for top-10 of all time.
4.) Franks a Niner, that's for sure.
Bonus.) Straight up Haunts Seattle!!!! Haha, that was great watching frank beat up on seattle just like he always does!
Bottom bump.... rant got me through a whole cup of coffee

Your right, any running back worth his salt should be able to juke one of the best safeties in the game out of his shoes when that safety sees him coming from 10 yards away and his one and only responsibility is to not get juked
