I really think that's the gist of it; he's just not that good anymore and all the hype coming out of camp was just that: hype. He's taking dives when he sees contact coming, short arms passes and doesn't make extra effort on balls that used to be catchable for him. At some point, his value as a decoy will evaporate. Then what? In the meantime, we have 2 high round draft picks not even activated. Some say that's a tribute to our depth, but when your first rounder isn't even good enough to suit up........but that's a different topic. All I can say is that his play and "rapport" with Alex is 180 degrees from what we were led to believe from camp.
WRONG WRONG WRONG
What we heard in training camp was that Moss was far and away the best receiver at making the DB's look bad. They just didn't know how to cover him because Moss can make plays 1 on 1 when the QB has half a brain
WE KNOW Alice doesn't have half a brain to play QB in this league. I saw Rodgers make a throw yesterday between 5 defenders to lead a receiver open in the endzone. I know Alice will never do this. But to throw Moss the ball ONCE is not good enough. We need to take a few shots per game, we need to complete a few shots per game. We need to do this because the playoffs will not be filled with teams like the Jets and we will lose just like last year bedcause our QB likes to hold the ball.
PS-- granted, Crabs and Manningham are playing quite well, and by the end of the year our passing chemistry with them may lead us beyond what our difficiences with Moss will lead us
in Addendum, regardless that we won handily, if Kap can get it closer to Moss 50 yards downfield covered by 3 people than Alice can at all, then this is bad

I think the coaches have some surprise Moss packages up their sleeves and are saving them for bigger games as we need them.

If he can't, find someone who can.

Who said he can't? He can (and has) he just rarely needs to.

In all honesty he should just retire its not good to see a fallen legend to be a back up who hardly gets any playing time. But then again he probably already used all his straight cash homie and is broke.

When has he whined? He's done exactly ZERO whining since being here.

Its like I've been saying I don't think moss was brought here to be the big number guy... thats what Manningham crabs and VD are for... I think he is more of a mentor. I mean look at crabtree now He comes in prepared now. He makes big catches when we need him 2 (see week ) Moss isnt doing much on the field but from everything Ive read he is the reason our receiving core seems to have stepped up its game. now if only our guys can lose the case of butter fingers we would be great.

Show me where Moss has whined since he's been on the team?

Yep, definitely agree here. He might actually get the ball thrown to him more than a once a game, and we might have a chance at seeing some exciting 1st down deep ball touchdowns.

we're definitely not utilizing his skill set. That deep jump ball is what we should be doing with him, only not when he's triple covered. He's been 1 on 1 many times down the field but it's never thrown his way.

I was not expecting him to have a huge year, but cmon' guys.....All the beat writers kept talking about how Moss was the best receiver on the team in training camp. I know its just training camp, but I think we all believed he would have a bigger impact thus far.
