Pete Prisco goes overboard here. He starts off by predicting us to go 9-7. He regurgitates the same crap we hear from all the other "insiders"; defense is good but can they repeat what they did last year, offense needs to pass more to win in this league, Alex Smith needs to take more risks...
But this is what he said about our coach that really was way off base.
"They have a whack job for a coach, but he can lead them to 10 victories with that defense."

Yup, just a regurgitation of the same thing we've heard from every other writer who doesn't believe what they saw from the 49ers last year and won't believe it until they see it again.
Whatever.
Whatever.

So pathetic. Why can't they give credit where credit is due. Alex had what 6 comebacks last year and in the playoffs. And guess what a lot of qbs had their defense chip in from time to time or actual wrs that got open to help out or an ol that could pass block.

We don't need praise from external sources. We know what kind of team we have. I hope Harbaugh approaches the media the way Coach Walsh did - as the enemy. The 'us against the world' mentality makes for a more unified locker room.

A whack job for a coach! WTF? LOL! I LOVE the Niners being hated on again. Feels soooo good! Proving "writers" if you want to call him that wrong is so much better than them agreeing with us!

Tight end Vernon Davis came up big in the playoffs last January, but he needs to do more of that during the season. He has the talent to be a star.
Did I miss something guys? Is Vernon Davis still not a star?

When you go after Peyton Manning and then go out of your way to deny it, people will call you names.

1) Who cares if the media, who just try to drive so-called "stories" to keep their jobs, calls our coach names.
2) Football people know who Jim Harbaugh really is...he's a competitor at heart and that helped him be the player he was and the coach he's become.
3) Only Harbaugh and people inside the 49ers organization really know how much they evaluated/considered Peyton Manning - everyone else is just speculating w/ their opinions.

if im not mistaken didnt Peyton Manning even say that he was the one who contacted SF?
all he said was he didnt pursue, meaning chase. he might have kicked the tires and been interested but Pursue. maybe he didnt.
but i agree he is crazy, even the players call him so.
but arent all the greats a little crazy?
