San Francisco at Green Bay (4:15 PM) 49ers at Packers - Win, but tough. giants exposed them in green bay, and Niners are tougher.
Detroit at San Francisco (8:20 PM) Lions at 49ers - Win, home field helps.
San Francisco at Minnesota (1:00 PM) 49ers at Vikings - Win, run defense stops their main weapon.
San Francisco at N.Y. Jets (1:00 PM) 49ers at Jets - Win, sanches not all that, and may even see some tebow action.
Buffalo at San Francisco (4:25 PM) Bills at 49ers - Win, no competition here.
N.Y. Giants at San Francisco (4:25 PM) Giants at 49ers - Win, giants lost a lot of weapons, and we have them stockpiled. eli gets pounded hard.
Seattle at San Francisco (8:20 PM) Seahawks at 49ers - Win, easy.
San Francisco at Arizona (8:30 PM) 49ers at Cardinals - Win, should be one of the better games.
St. Louis at San Francisco (4:25 PM) Rams at 49ers - Win, I hope Niners don't fall asleep at the wheel.
Chicago at San Francisco (8:30 PM) Bears at 49ers - Win, I can't see losing to the bears. Special teams needs to step up on kick off returns.
San Francisco at New Orleans (4:25 PM) 49ers at Saints - Win - who dat? Cause they aint's what they used to be!!! Team is in disarray.
San Francisco at St. Louis (1:00 PM) 49ers at Rams - Win should be easiest game of year.
Miami at San Francisco (4:05 PM) Dolphins at 49ers - Win, oh wait, THIS should be easiest game of year. Ocho-stinko won't be a factor.
San Francisco at New England (8:20 PM) 49ers at Patriots - Win. Another team that ain't what they used to be.
San Francisco at Seattle (4:15 PM) 49ers at Seahawks - Win - pete carrol cries.
Arizona at San Francisco (4:25 PM) Cardinals at 49ers - Win - sweeping the division.
First round Bye
On to the playoffs - Win
On to the superbowl - Win

Is the 2012 schedule really as hard as people are making it seem?

This!
Last year our defense was elite and our offense was servicable. Baring injury our defense should be just as good if not better and you cannot convince me our O wont be at least twice as good as last year. On paper we are the most balanced team in the NFL. Every team should worry about us. Real Talk.

At Green Bay, New Orleans, New England. Those are going to be very tough games to win.
Green Bay -- Green Bay got caught in a freezing ice box in the playoffs. They dropped everything. They were shut down by their own weather. Weather won't be a problem this time. It won't be anything like that Giants game. I'm not looking forward to our fanbase reaction if it gets ugly. We are going to need POINTS in this one, we can't expect our defense to shut down Rogers all day.
New Orleans -- At home, they are a different team. More so than any other team in the league. They are extremely dangerous at home. Everyone is talking about the off-field stuff derailing them. That is wishful thinking. They still have Brees. Vilma doesn't throw the ball. Again, we will need points in this game to keep up.
New England -- This team got to the Super Bowl. We didn't. Sure, they are not what they used to be, but neither is Tom Brady, who is even BETTER than he used to be. How many games do they lose at home? Very very few.
People are scoffing at the above games, but we are NOT going to be favorites in these games (unless something drastic happens to one of these teams, like injury to the QB).
There is a silver lining though. The toughest three opponents we face, are all on the road, which is tough for those games, but it means we have three other games at home against weaker opponents. So even if we lose the above games, we should expect to win the large majority of the other games and go 10-6 at worst.
Baring injury, we have the best defense in the league, but we are going to need a big bump in improvement from our offense next year if we hope to repeat a record like 13-3.

I could list the reasons I think next season will be harder and post a long paragraph explaining why I think it will difficult to win 13 games again...
...but I thought we would go 7-9 last year, so I'm going to sit here and quietly eat my plate of STFU served Harbaugh-style.

I thought 9 or 10 wins last year max. Our boys really surprised me in year 1 by exceeding that.
Does look tough... I'm going again with a cautious 10 or 11 wins. Could be that we exceed that, but I don't want to get too arrogant about the season.

All of our home games are winnable
I predict losses to Green Bay, Jets, Saints, and Patriots.
Seattle on the road and Detroit will give us a run for our money, but I think we will pull it off at the last second.
This schedule is slightly tougher than last year:
At Phili
At Seattle
At Cincinnati
At Detroit
At Baltimore
Pittsburgh
Giants
Dallas (playing the cowboys are always tough)
I would argue that last year's schedule was very tough.

We play the Giants at home
Anyways out of those other 5 if we can go 3-2 at the worst then we're in business

You only get better by playing the best. These games will have us prepared for the tough match ups in the playoffs and beyond.
