Who are you ashamed was a 49er?

Was listening to Jim Rome today and he was interviewing Bill Romanoski who said bounty gate was no big deal and there should not be any player suspensions. I also see Matt Millen as an embarrassment when he said he would always be a Raider after winning a Super Bowl in SF. Then there is Lawrence Phillips. Many of you are too young to remember when had an over the hill O.J. Simpson. I can't think of anyone else.

Romanoski never did anything bad as a niner it was after that he turned looney so not really ashamed as you put it. don't know why you are hard on Millen, almost his entire career was with the Raiders. Just like Joe or Jerry.

OJ maybe if you are basing on what he did later. Phillips was just bad head case and the brass made a bad choice of bringing him in. So for me, it is what are you basing shame on. If they were bad as players, then I would be more ashamed of the coaches and GM. Look at Singletary, stubborn old fool that was closed minded and wasn't head coach material. How about Joe Thomas? Debartolo brought him in when the niners were mid level team and they stunk it up by trading away the future for a washed OJ and we went further south. However, everything has a reason-if not for Thomas we would not have gotten Walsh.

Pretty much agree with most of the names mentioned.... didn't see if Mark Roman was mentioned.

Edit: nevermind he was listed on the 1st page.

Trent Dilfer helped me remember that Quaterbacks have to be true athletes and not talkers who get carried.
Any former dallas roach that crawled here from under Jerry's boots.(yeah even Kenny Jr.) that aren't worth saying by name.

Hell yeah. We draft the dude. Then "god" tells him to retire. Then somehow gets himself arrested by doing something ungodly?

Trying to figure out why McKyer is on some peoples lists, he was a good player but just had a big mouth
This list should begin and end with Lawrence Phillips.

romanoski, he spit in jj stokes face and after he retired said that denver fans are better than 49er fans. Of course he thinks the saints punishments are too much he was one of the dirtiest players ever.

That's exactly right about Romo. He was a decent fellow as a Niner, when he left he went insane, and what made it so fascinating was the type of player he was with the Niners. It's akin to Willis losing his marbles, he's got it together between the ears, and he's the last person you'd think would go nuts.

As for guys I didn't like: I grew to like Hacksaw Reynolds, never had much use for Deon Sanders, Ricky Waters did a fantastic job of pissing me off, and Charles Haley was a genuine embarrassment.
Chris Weinkie is up there. Not that I have anything against him, it was just a when we were at rock bottom. I just associate him with a time I am ashamed of.

But Mike Singletary takes the cake. I can't stand that guy. He was one of the worst professional coaches I have ever seen.
