What makes everyone think that Kaep will throw all these picks? Coming out of college he was by far the most game ready QB, even more than andy dalton, and andy did just fine in his first year.

Exactly. It's just that people have Alex smith's rookie year engrained in their minds. Plus Colin is no longer technically even a rookie, a year is a lot of practice and film study.
-We don't have a s**t coach, there's no way colin throws 30 picks, if he plays that bad on a game to game basis he doesn't play and we get someone else like hasselbeck in there.
-We have the weapons, teams like the jags and skins horrible passing offenses aren't helped by the fact they have absolutely zero talent. Vernon Davis is one of those TEs that's a youngster's best friend. Crab, moss, manningham, this is a pretty talented pool now.
-If we can limit Alex's turnovers and teach him to only throw in "safe" situations, why can't that easily be applied to a rookie? Actually that sounds PERFECT for a youngster to learn football in.

Because two weeks after getting his playbook he threw some picks in preseason. Obviously, that translates directly to how good he will play in the NFL.

He might even do better than expected because he knows the playbook and the system plus he would have a whole off season to get prepared. Like other posters said, if Harbaugh can play it safe with a limited Smith why could he not do the same with Kaep?

Its the vet vs rookie argument. Alex has seen more and experienced more then any rookie has. Its easier to trick a rookie and get into thier head then a seasoned vet.

Not even Jim can tell what kind of qb Kaps is gonna be by what he does in practice.
Totally different animal.
If we lose out on both Alex and Manning, we are royaly screwed!
Every other quality qb will be off the market. We will then be taking scrapes off the table that no dog wanted!
Yeah, lets go win with that? This is stupid? FO trying to be too f__king cute and may just sc__w the pooch.

they went the entire season with him as backup. they traded up for him. he loves the game and is physically more gifted than Alex smith. he was coached by the same coach as Alex smith people seem to forget. he's ready to take the job. he excites me. he plays the game while Alex analyzes the instructions.
Colin kaepernick has unlimited potential and will outdo smith given a real opportunity

Anyone who doesn't believe in Kaep doesn't believe in JH. jH is very good at proving people wrong. Nolan on the other hand, acquired Alex Smith.

This isn't the 70's where college or NFL QBs didn't pass as much and required more development time. Most of these guys should be ready by their second year.

Should be and is ready are different He is going to have his first TC this year which will be a major tool for his progression. He isnt getting the one on one treatment during the season, that happens during camp. Right now the risk is too high to start him.

He will exceed Alex's 2011 numbers. Alex is also very capable of exceeding his 2011 numbers.
