I'm not saying he did or didn't do it but the evidence and testimony indicated he didn't and the judicial system worked. Hopefully on the outside looking in the kid is a good guy and worth the risk.

However, he did lie to police about not having sex with the woman at all. Since the DNA of the baby matched his unless the lawyer said it could have been another family member. This will bear watching. He was a first round talent coming out of College, but troubles dropped him like a hot potato to the fifth round. P Willis, Justin Smith, Navarro will be on him or he maybe gone after one year and never heard from again.

The majority of the articles written were after the prosecution presented its case and BEFORE the defense could present their side. The case got blown to shreds during the prosecution's attempt to establish the crime. The chick has said multiple times since that she has no evidence of any sexual assualt and did not want to falsely accuse anyone. ALSO the hospital called the cops and informed them, not the girl, who RAN OUT of the hospital before the police arrived... 5 minutes later. Sounds like she lied to save face at the hospital and the second things got "real" she had to go along with it until she was proven discredible... which she obviously was.
edit: double

I read up on the case, its common sense to question whether the girl was raped or not if she got in lesbo style with her friend in front of Thomas and Vaughn. I'll leave it at though like you say it is better to avoid this type of craziness.

no, that makes no sense. just because someone willingly does freaky stuff doesn't mean if someone f**ks them against their will that they weren't raped.
Lets get Lawrence Phillips out of jail. And sign Pac Man Jones. And bring T.O. back. Add that to Moss and Cox. Perfect team. I see what they are trying to build here....
great pickup! Not much of risk here, and he can play corner and special teams.

Could be a great signing if he stays out of trouble. He is a guy I wanted a few years ago

Lets fact it, this is football, not a boy choir. Steve Young even chuckled when Nolan was on his choir boy character bandwagon how Walsh and company took certain players deemed a risk because of their talent.

I put Perrish Cox in that category, he was supposed to be a round 1 talent, dropped because of character issues, had a good rookie season then more trouble. Maybe he has had an ephiphany and will stay out of trouble and in 2 years he will be a top FA??

In his post-signing interview, Cox took responsbility for the part he played in his assault charge, even though he was found not guilty. I think that's all we can ask for. This is better than someone like Russel Crowe getting into fight after fight in bars and not taking the responsbility to stay away from bars. Cox's maturity and self-examination are miles from Moss's "I got a bad rap."

Exactly, cases like this are often He said/She said... so if a chick was doing girl on girl, said she doesnt know if she was raped, and then said oh but if it was Demaryus then its fine... sounds allot more like a lie than the truth. The prosecution didnt even believe her story which is why she never took the stand. Denver loves to get athletes in trouble and judge them guilty before any evidence has even surfaced, it sells papers and journalists dont care about the facts if halftruths sell better.

Ok, how many more "high risk, high reward" guys do we need on this team? Honestly, just what are we doing here? First the quitter, now the rapist. Whos's next, Rae Carruth?

People are assuming that Rogers is gone. That is still debatable. I see Cox more as a replacement for Shawnte and Ginn in the KO return game with Hunter. As for the punt return duties, not sure. However, even with Culliver, Brock Brown, Culliver and Spillan, you need hands people on ST and DB's will always have injuries where a player misses a game or two. Although the niners could end up going after a CB in the draft or another corner in FA.

Rogers is more then likely gone, dont you think that rather then wasting our time doing homework and digging up facts/possibly interviewing former teammates, coaches, etc or talking to the Denver PD and signing the guy a 2 year $1M deal that we would've allocated our resources torward signing Rogers if we wanted to?

Rogers has an offer on the table and doesn't like he it so he is shopping himself around, by the time he realizes our offer was a good one we will have possibly moved on.

Regarding the bolded statement.
I dont know if you really are going this way but in the Rogers thread everyone was acting like Cox was literally replacing Rogers in the Depth chart which is not the case. Cox is a replacement for Spencer and competition for Brock for the #3 spot, as well as an insurance policy against Ginn, to show him that we have viable alternatives to him.

This was a brilliant signing by the FO, it kills 2 birds with 1 stone at a very minimal investment and with the draft still a month a way and FA just starting today there is stil a chance that we find a better upgrade and cut Cox loose. But as of now the off season DC is this

Brown - Culliver - Brock - Cox - Holcomb.

I think the lezbo action was from Vaughn and Cox, the only involvement Thomas had was that Vaughn texted him about it after he left. I mean he might be innocent, but I don't like that he lied about it and I don't think he is innocent(or I should say completely innocent), and I'd have preferred we didn't sign him. I also don't like that it means we're probably losing Ginn and Rogers. We had a high quality good character team and now we're ending up with some problem guys and losing some talent. I don't really like it.
