5 should probably be Willis--but for fun i will take a flyer---and go with Jesse Sapolu--offensive guard
I am nuts--I forgot about Steve Young! slap my head! Young should be # 4 Haley # 5

Its hard not to put Owens at 5 but Willis will have better career I think in the end.

I'm not familiar enough with the pre-80s players to say, but seems like Johnson and Nomellini have a strong argument for top 5 status. Nomellini was named all-NFL twice on offense and 4 times on defense. Also pretty cool that he was our first ever draft choice.
Other pre-80s HOFers who spent the bulk of their careers with the Niners:
FB Joe Perry
HB Hugh McElhenny
QB Y.A. Little
CB Jimmy Johnson
LB Dave Wilcox
Would be nice to hear from some experts on that era.
my 1980s-present top 5:
1) Rice
2) Montana
3) Lott
4) Young
5) T.O. (but Willis will surpass him in no time)

That does not make him a top-5 player in Niner history.

Rice
Young
Lott
Haley
This is a tough one. Haley has to be on this list. Losing Haley cost the 9ers 2 SBs at least IMO...... Willis will be there, but these guys have rings...........
