San Francisco 49ers
Congratulations to Jim Harbaugh for being named AP Coach of the Year. Alex Smith accepted on his behalf. Hearing it was a tremendous speech.

Saw this coming.
Justin and Aldon got snubbed. Alex didn't deserve his award over Stafford.
At least Harbaugh got what he deserves.

In my opinion, Alex Smith, Justin Smith, and Aldon each deserved awards.
- Sure, Alex Smith didn't come back from an injury, but seriously... the things he's had to put up with in the past six seasons... the boos... the criticism... the losing... he's come back from more than an injury.
- Justin Smith had good company, I think. So I can't get too mad about it. It's just hard to really appreciate the value of what he does. Seriously... the guy was an All-Pro at both Defensive End AND Defensive Tackle in the same season. He just doesn't have the flashy sack numbers that Terrell Suggs and Jared Allen had. They deserved it too though, but really wish he would've gotten it.
- Aldon Smith got snubbed bad, I think. Von Miller was just a higher-profile linebacker.
Doesn't really matter though. They're just awards. I just can't wait until next season. So much hope and optimism in our team now.

It's kind of hard to give the award to Aldon Smith when he was a situational player and not playing as much as Miller or as effectively. I mean overall in terms of performance as a full time player instead of a situational one.

Is that a joke....effectively??? Yeah sure Aldon was great against the run and the best against the pass. Von miller struggled he even GOT BENCHED this season bc he was too inconsistent. Aldon is a better pass rusher and better against the run. He did better with a lot less snaps, Aldon deserved it

I'm Aldon's biggest fan, and I think he is a more valuable player to us than Von Miller would be to us, but I don't have a problem with Von Miller winning it. He started more games, that is the thinking there. Per snap, Aldon crushed him, but few awards are given to "per-snap" performers.

Do you really know why he got benched? Remember he had an injury on his finger which he needed surgery. That hurt his play and one of the reasons why he got benched, and Aldon did better maybe because he was a SITUATIONAL player. Von Miller was the better OVERALL player and started more games and played better for the most part until his injury.

Hell forget per snap just on field performance.....and when smith was on the field he out performed miller and was never benched for blowing assignments. I still think Justin smith was a lot better as a defensive MVP than Suggs. What did Suggs get 1 sack in the last 5 games and did not much at all in the playoffs wheras Justin smith made game saving plays and excelled in almost every game as was more valuable vs the run and close to him as a pass rusher and drew coverage so our other pass rushers could be singled up like Aldon smith.

Yes he did get benched remember he gave up a 30+ yard td and they removed him. Also it was noted that he was missing some assignments, assignments that smith did not miss like miller did. So you are definitely wrong here, and miller is certainly NOT the better overall player. Why, just because Denver did not have good lobs like brooks and haralson like we do.

All that considered, Stafford came back from an injury and had a better season than Alex Smith. No way Alex deserves that award.

14 sacks > 11.5 sacks, situational or not.

Justin Smith definitely deserved defensive MVP over Suggs. It is not even close. That is pure bias all the way, and I really don't know what else to say about it.
I could call the people who voted for them "dimwits", but I don't think that would change anything.
The thing is, I think Von and Aldon are equal talents. That one was a toss up, so they went with the player who started more games.
