Morgan is a tremendous blocker at WR, too. He's huge picking off guys at the line and also downfield.

If the 9ers keep Crabtree and he improves I could see #1 FA, #2 Crabtree, #3 Morgan, #4 Williams or rookie. I'm not sure Crabtree is better than Morgan but he has the potential to be better. I was looking at situational receptions and Crabtree has the least number of catches in the middle of our top receivers (past three years). Not sure this means anything but running sloppy routes is more dangerous in the middle, is it not?

I'm also beginning to agree about bringing in Fleener as he could be another large threat who can't be covered by a LB or S. Also, that would give the 9ers three TEs who can play as WRs or TEs...sounds very Harbaughian.

4. bring in a decent FA to battle with Brock/Holcomb/Nelms and maybe a late rd pick

Our staff seems to strongly respect the first 3. We are also likely to sign a good vet FA WR, so we could then use that 3rd on a CB.

I like Josh but I feel we can do a lot better via the draft and free agency now.

Label him a TE if it helps... but we need another legit offensive weapon that can go up + attack the football in the redzone or...anywhere on the field. Perhaps having VD and Fleener will cause nightmarish mismatches for opposing DCs.

Hope they can keep Rogers! I would be happy with those three. Not sold on Brown or Brock and wonder how much was coaching and scheme. I was very impressed with the development of the whole defense thoughout the season. Would like to see them draft a young CB to groom behind Culliver...perhaps to take Brocks place.

Oops...just looked at the ages of these guys and they already have a ton of young CBs (4 guys 23). If they are being developed then they're set at CB.

I dont mind bringing him back. But he needs to be a secondary/afterthought type move. We need to bring in a top WR. If we can do that, resign our defensive FAs, and there is still money left, the lets bring Morgan back. If not, good luck Josh.
