Thoughts on Joshua Morgan?

He would most likely be a #3. However, like a lot of other players on this team, as the season went along and they received good coaching, they improved as well. It is hard to say what he might become but he is certainly worth bringing back. Barring further injury, if he gets beaten out by FOUR other WRs next season, this team will have solved their WR problem.

i like josh morgan if we can bring him back for the low. we need to upgrade our wr"s drastically. alex smith is expected get better next season so we need to surround him with as many weapons as possible. we cant bs around and waste this dominant defense. we should bring him back because we know he can be productive, but only at the right price. we need a burner in the slot and a big #1 for crabs to compliment.

Agree, he was getting open on the slant over the middle and it seemed he was starting to get some separation.

Put Crabtree in the slot Morgan at flanker and FA/DP on split end, and gentleman we have a passing game.

His Catch and run in the Philly game was impresive, Crabtree has never pulled off something like that.

Dwight Clark was average but he fully understood the offense, read the defense accurately and found the open spaces. Morgan was just beginning to provide that when he was injured. In a 2nd or 3rd receiver role he could be very effective. It all revolves around what kind of wide out FA/draft pick Baalke can land. If it is a fast guy, Morgan will play a key role in possession situations. If it is a big tall guy, Morgan may not be quite as effective. The 49ers need a speed guy to keep the safeties deep enough to allow operating room underneath for guys like Morgan and Crabtree.

I think Morgan is gone. He's a 600 (at worst) to 1000 (at best) receiver. He was finally looking to have gotten completely settled into his own but now that's going to be delayed further due to the ankle.

With Kyle Williams and Crabtree showing some very good things at WR, we really can't wait for Morgan to get back into it, especially if we acquire two more WR's and keep Ginn.

He wants to be a 49er, and Harbaugh wants him back. It may be a 1 year deal that allows him to prove himself for a good sized contract, and allows the 49ers to minimize their obligation for someone coming back from that injury.

This team needs stable WRs, and Morgan, while not great, is at least stable.

Morgan is the only receiver I've seen that has developed solid chemistry with Alex. I don't think Alex has the same level of "knowing" with VD even. It really seemed like they trusted each other and hence they made some nice plays together. Just for that reason alone I'd love to have Morgan back.

Seriously??? Williams over Morgan? Are you nuts? And Morgan runs better routes, has better hands, is stronger than, and is a more athletic WR than Crabtree.

Crabtree has more natural talent and potential, Morgan seems to have better drive and more "can-do" attitude........

I disagree Tree has more talent. Morgan is more athletic, and stronger. Only thing Crab has on him is an inch of height and 2 inches in his wingspan. I don't see how you guys think Tree has more talent than Josh. Just because of where he was drafted and his college numbers?
