Oh yeah, just what we need, another retread OC needing to prove why he should be given a HC job. I'll pass.

i don't know how old some of you are but i'm old enough to remember his playcalling and most of the time is was terrible. Eddie D agreed.

Most people here haven't been around that long boast, remember his firing vividly, Eddie D was pissed...

"he's gone too"
I amazes me how so many fans here would be OK with losing another OC.

LOL if Roman leaves the system won't change...
No biggie. Harbaugh will keep the offense the same and promote an OC within (Geep Chryst or John Morton) and spice the offense up a bit. Roman is a good run play caller/creater but does not have much experience to offer in the passing game.

Bill Callahan intrigues me, he was brought up last year when the speculation of who was coming and who was staying (at stanford)

Callahan is another good one and I believe his contract is up with the Jets, so if Roman does go, the system will remain the same and there will still be a competent...maybe even better play-caller on board.

And Harbaugh was the QB Coach on Callahan's staff in Oakland in 2002-2003 . . . . hmmm.

furthermore; Bill Callahan declined a contract extension with the jets

Just up there because they're available and most of those names help form a sample base of the "quality" names vs. "mediocre". Which is why I said people should post their ideas on who should be potential replacements and despite my "sensationalist" title it still holds true, he is obviously seriously considering leaving because he interviewed over a month ago and Penn State just said he is a finalist for the job and in all honesty he's got a 1 out of 3 shot of being offered the job between Packs QB coach Clements and Patriots OC O'Brien.

Because he wasn't fired because of Trestman & the #3 offense in the NFL. Seifert was 12-4 and they had a really good team, but they couldn't run the ball because they had Loville & Kirby and you cant win in the playoffs if you cant run the ball. I have no idea why we didn't go after a good RB, it was probably our #1 need. We had RIDICULOUS standards back then. Name another coach that was fired after a 12-4 season with a top 5 offense and defense? You wont because it NEVER happens. We didn't win the Superbowl so Eddy cleaned house. Looking back it was pretty stupid on his part.

I'm not sure you do remember. I do and i remember we couldn't run the ball to save our lives. It was as bad as I've ever seen it and i wondered why we let it get so bad. Also the Raiders were 4-12 because Gannon was hurt most of the year and the backup was NFL bust Rick Mirer. Also really your going fault Trestman for the Cardinals? The CARDINALS? The worst run NFL team outside of Tampa in NFL history???
