Or Rosenhaus was being reasonable and Goldson, again, thought too highly of himself and will test the FA market again for the highest bidder?

I see both of those as very possible scenerios....

Actually, this is REALLY, REALLY BAD. -Rosenhaus (although being the 'dick' he is) has 50% of our roster under his clientele, and is usually how/why Paraag gets the 'home-town deals' done (to structure the cap). -Goldson is probably going to get Eugene Parker (Crabtree's agent), and he'll contest/hold-out for the first week of FA until a team gives him what he wants.

People forget that last off-season got pretty ugly in Goldson camp, he was pulling all-out immature twitter fights with fans, and telling the 49ers "see ya later, c********rs" (on Twitter) before we even re-signed him the 5th day into FA (cause he expected teams to offer him Nick Collins money) . -Goldson is still Goldson, nothing about Harbaugh or this season has changed his personality; only thing is that now Goldson has the 'street-cred' to back up his demands.

This doesn't make much sense to me. For one, what "home town deals" have the Niners negotiated previously? Two, Goldson has two options here; either sign long term or be franchised. He can still decide to hold out, but the only way he isn't a Niner next year is if the FO decides they don't want him to be. I'm sure he and his agent know they have minimal leverage here.
It is funny that so many hate drew. The miners have come out and said they like dealing with him. Like every agent he is a rep of his client and he may end up with a client like TO or goldson who may/can/are unreasonable.

I think it's probably the former. He wants a long-term deal and Rosenhaus, true to form, was probably playing hardball. He likely fired him in an effort to get a deal done. And hopefully for both him and the team, that happens soon.

yep.
Did someone above post that "maybe Rosenhaus" was being too reasonable??!! Really? When has that ever even come close to happening? It's just as likely that Rosenhaus was already talking holdout and playing tough with the Niners and Goldson didn't want to play that game again. I hope that's the case because I really want the Niners to retain Goldson.

lol then goldson wouldn't have left rosenhaus, since of course he wasn't calling the shots. simple logic

i thought their contract was up and goldson simply choose not to re-up. at any rate the agents job is to negotiate and advise and maybe even relay decisoins on their clients behalf they dont call the final shot imho

Didn't Goldson switch to Rosenhaus in the middle of last season? IMO Goldson already watched Rosenhaus fail with 2 teams(us and the pats) regarding a long deal and he didn't want to go through the same thing.

Some players give their agents full autonomy regarding their contracts, while others insist that their agent is simply a mouthpiece for the players wishes. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Rosenhaus had a reputation for being in complete control of his clients contracts and not a mouthpiece.

All I know is Goldson shouldn't over play his hand. He's good not great. Dude definitly benefited from an insane passrush last year. I'd have to watch the tape again, but it may even be able to be argued that he caused us two interceptions in the NFCC trying to pad his stats. I can't totally blame him as each interception could have been worth about an extra million a year.
