Tough choice between us and Baltimore.

If it were not the fact that it was the Packers that the 49ers beat, I'd have to give #1 spot to the Ravens. The other teams beat up on suspect teams (KC also was without some key defensive players). Even if you ignore their defense prowess, the Ravens put on a show of offensive dominance against a very decent defense of last season.

When you think about it, it's not that far of a stretch.

Coach - Push
Offense - Edge Patriots (Tom Brady)
Defense - Edge 49ers (but Pats Much improved)

I think the Pats offense is nearly unstoppable as well. Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Lloyd and now they have a decent running game.

They will be tough to beat.

Impossible to not place the Niners in the top spot. They beat last week's second-ranked team at their place, while the former No. 1 (G-Men) went down with a whimper at home. Alex Smith has received much respect for his performance, but San Francisco's secondary put its stamp on this game, competing until the very end. What a start for Jim Harbaugh and company.

49ers (1-0; No. 7) (one first-place vote): It's hard to imagine Week One going any better, even if they had managed to sign Peyton Manning.

Much improved against the suckie ass Titans. This is crap. The Pats beat the Titans who basically have a terrible squad on offense outside of CJ. We beat the best QB and some say the best player in the league and his high powered squad - IN LAMBEAU. How is this ESPNs list even rational? LOL
I'm not buying the Pats D is much improved, at least not after week 1
