Topic says it all. With Beeler getting the boot he either got complacent or just wasn't as good as Harbaugh hoped he would be. What position should she go after? Any interesting PS eligible guys still out there?

Not sure at all. BUT I do have faith in JH/Baalke to make a good move that may help out sooner than later.
The niners should be upgrading their roster and PS throughout the season. I think Harbaugh et al realized that they have enough Guard/Centers under contract for next season, they really need more WR's.

Morgan RFA??
Edwards- FA
Ginn- FA

Crabtree- under contract
Kyle Williams under contract

Regarding Chase Beeler ... The 49ers re-signed him to the practice squad this week in part because another team wanted to sign the former Stanford center to their 53-man roster. The 49ers like Beeler and feel that he will only get better after gaining strength during their off-season program. The feeling is mutual. Beeler declined to sign with the team that was pursing him - his agent declined to reveal that team - because he felt his long-tern prospects were best in San Francisco.Read more: http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2011/10/49ers-set-to-emerge-from-bye-week-in-good-health.html#ixzz1bFL4PnWR
It's nice to be 5-1 on an upswing. Even the mighty Chase Beeler is spurning other teams to be on our PS.

Obviously he's got ties to Harbaugh... but it's nice to see a player make the choice to stay on our PS rather than sign on to another team's 53 man roster.

That can't be right, I thought the rule was that another team can sign your man even if he is on the practice squad as long as he is signed to the Roster and not the practice squad?

You are right, he can still be signed if he chooses. He isnt forced to sign with the any team he doesnt want to.
