Had to do this! Through 3 games, Bowman is leading the team in tackles. I did not think that was possible (to lead a team in tackles that has Patrick Willis on it's defense). Willis is a stud, we know that. Bowman is not that far behind. Man this kid can play. He is a force vs the run. Very solid in pass coverage and he has shown he can rush the passer coming up the middle on a blitz or from the outside where he has some pass rush moves. This kid is playing at pro bowl level. We are in great shape at ILB for the next 5+ years with Willis and Bowman. What a great duo!

Takeo Spikes only had something like 10 total tackles in first 3 games last year.

PW has 22 this year in 3 games (25 last year).

Significant improvement/production from what is the strongest positions on the team anyway.

Exactly. All this homerism for Patrick Willis is crazy. If Willis was that good, he'd be our leading tackler. But he's not, bowman is. It's clear Willis has lost a step this season.

I think its more because of our defensive line, Willis clearly has lost a step and doesnt seem to be trying as hard anymore. Bowman is all over the place making plays

5th in the league in tackles, not too bad for a 2nd year player. Not to mention the outstanding play of Brooks thus far, and a hopeful up in coming star in Aldon Smith. I mean, Brooks-Bowman-Willy -Smith that's some amazing young talent right there.

Nope. Bowman is playing like Willis used too. Bowman's success is all about him.

Patrick Willis is good as his track record indicates im just saying that he lost a step and isnt even the best LB on this team anymore. Bowman is clearly play like the old Patrick Willis. Why not explore a trade for Willis now that his value is still very high?
