What makes you think that? I don't buy that at all.

if we are still crap, no question he is gone. However, if we improve, get a QB who plays, throws well often. and if yorks pay crabtree, he will be back.

And actually in the 2009 draft, Sing wanted Oher ( Blind Side guy, no surprise ) McClueless actually drafted crabtree.

Oher would have been a good pick too, Crabtree was a projected top 5 pick, fell in our laps, had to take him

let him go if he wants to leave, I think we can replace him fairly easy, without having to spend another #1 pick. Esp if braylon stays.....

Crabtree was #1 on the 49ers draft board. It was a no-brainer. Can't recall, but they wanted to trade up for Oher, I believe.

I haven't seen him crying or heard anything about him moping about. I really can't blame him for not being excited about playing on a Mike Singletary coached team. I am no expert on body language, but I happen to know one, maybe I will ask her to take a look at some film on him and get an experts opinion on that and get back to you. Until then, let's not dog on a player with a legit injury based on speculation from amateurs.

I'm skeptical on this legit injury. An injury that seems to only flair up in training camp but magically goes away when week 1 arrives.

He basically said that he never understood where Michael got his bad reputation from.

Hopefully Crabtree doesn't suffer the same fate as Haley, Watters, and Owens. All talented players who left SF way too early.

Joe's not about to throw him under the bus. Even if he was a total prick, douche, etc, he's not going to come out and say "Man, I wish they'd trade this guy. He's a clown, doesn't want to be here, total diva." Not gonna happen. Charles Haley was hated by many of his teammates and staff save a couple of his friends like Lott. Yet, you'd never know it until after certain incidents hit the media such as the TIm Harris incident, even then much of the disdain in the locker room for the guy was kept under wraps pretty good. Even more so when he got to Dallas. Cowboy fans had no idea how much he was hated by the staff and players for his antics, till after he retired. Fans were clueless, yet every team in the League was aware. Which is why the 49ers were crazy enough to trade him to a conference rival that was already damn good. They wanted him out of SF that bad. But no one else wanted him.

Oher went 23rd, I thought. We could have selected him over Crabtree but didn't.
You guys don't seem to understand that the team medical staff would not let him fake an injury.
Yea I think he is just shy and quiet off field, people have diff personas, crabtree is a pass catching, celebrating noise talker on the field, but off the field just quiet and reserved, I see nothing wrong with that
49ers San Francisco 49ers
Harbaugh said Crabtree has been "outstanding" in meetings. "His knowledge of what we're trying to do is very good."

If you still haven't proven yourself, AND merely give the appearance you don't have a good attitude or work ethic, you will have an even harder time proving yourself. If you don't get that concept in your young professional career, it speaks to immaturatiy & maybe even some emotional issues. Those kinds of head issues are another weakness that will hold someone back in a team sport. All things being equal with guys having similar talents, a more mature professional will be preferable to management and head cases will be dealt away.

But I don't know the inside. Could be a lot made of nothing because we talk about it. I can say one thing, he is not a fan favorite with how he comes across through the media. That is all on him.

You are correct! Crabtree has been solid for us. And is going to do great in the West Coast Offense

I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. I don't think Crabtree is a headcase. He may still be maturing, sure, since he entered the draft as a 21 year old sophomore. But the guy is not a problem on this team, like some are seemingly trying to make him out to be.
The hold out and last year put himself in easy "doghouse" status. You can call last year an injury but he was practicing but he wasn't playing in preseason. The fact that it urked a few veteran players proves they think he was pulling some diva s**t. This year it's a true injury and no one has any pity for him.

The fact that his actions rubbed some players the wrong way is fact that it is reasonable to "hate" him.
Why people hate on crabtree is perception. It also doesn't help that he has done nothing to dispell them. Long hold out and missing TC because of injuries doesn't help. Still, does he do just enough or go beyond to show that he wants to excel-being a #1 pick -more is expected of you. We have had great WR and even when injured they have done more-how shall I say it...to be a student of the game. He has not shown it. If he did-the coaches would have said so like they have with guys like Patrick Willis. Even when injured-you heard how coaches and players talked about how Patrick was itchin' to get in there or how he occupied himself and prepped himself so that when the time comes he would be ready. You don't hear that about Crabtree. Because of this, he comes across as waiting for things to come to him rather than siezing the moment and grabbing it by the throat.

He's only had one legitimate injury that has kept him from playing. He practiced last year but decided not to play in preseason. Players saw him practice just fine and that is why Vernon called him out last year.

This year is the only legitimate reason he has missed preseason games.
