40% chance of showers . . . basically like every day up there.

We usually dominate over there when it rains, like the 2006 game when Alex Smith ripped their post-Superbowl-losing secondary apart in the second half.

Lol, Alex never ripped apart any secondary in his career.

It was the best half in his career though. 162 yards, 2 TD passes, and a TD run. He had a terrible first half though.

very overrated half. all he did was have one bootleg (ryan leaf coulda ran that s**t in) and break one sack and then make an easy throw to gore for the TD (which he stil l overthrew a little)

he faked out everyone in the stadium. It wasn't about running it in........that fake was beautiful.

It was a great half of football.

Funny how you guys look for halfs or quarters of games he played well.

Here's a novel thought how about dominate a complete game for once.

TB 2011.

ARI 2010.

SEA 2010

off the top of my head. he has some other good games in 2009 too.

but you're right, it doesn't happen very often, and when it does, it isn't statistically as impressive as many other performances in Goodell's Fantasy Football Wonderland.

however, the conversation wasn't really the straw-grasping you're making it out to be.

I think if you look at the games that Joe or Steve had you will not see too many complete games where they dominated 4 qtrs. Sure there will be some, but for the most part they dominated one or two qtrs and played okay the rest of the game. Does no one remember Through the entire glory years how we were a second half team?

Not saying Alex is on that level, just that the bar you set exceeds what the greatest QBs ever were accomplishing.
