If the 49ers convert in the RZ they win the game against Pitt regardless if Big Ben plays or not.

I just think the play calling is gettin alil out of hand. I think they need to get back to the quick throws like we did earlier this year. Now a days smith is back there for ever and getting sacked. we WERE one of the top teams against the blitz but now were gettin sacked every other play it seems because of the play calling and trying to stretch the field too much. Even tho he had a few long passes last week I just dont think that is smiths forte. we need to get more quick passes and screens!!

I sure hope Willis is back next week.....because he's that extra energy that we needed today.
I won't be surprised if Willis plays either, especially after this loss.
To be fair, Grant was making the tackle when Goldson came in and hit GRANT off of Fitzgerald. That was the second time in the game where Goldson blew up his own teammate (Aldon SMith after forcing the fumble)
I don't want Goldson to stop playing the way hes been playing, but he blew 2 or 3 plays vs Larry Fits today that cost us the game, but it has worked for him this season and he has played very well, but vs a WR like Larry Fits, you can't take that chance. That being said look at that play that Larry Fits made in the iddle and ran for 30plus yard After the catch, Grant flat out missed the tackle, P Willy makes that tackle everytime. The 49ers really missed P Willy today and would have won this game with him playing, thats how good Willis is.
im not disagreeing with you there buddy
i agree with you as well as most posters today. The 49ers Offense has some huge problems vs the all out pass rush, and with a crappy running game were in huge trouble, we will really find out Monday Night what kind of team the 49ers are and just how big of a problem thay have after the Pitt game. Thank Goodness we have the Division won already. I will take that anyday.

As we say almost every week as of late. IN another thread someone talked about that we have just as many dropped balls as the Packs. And i said you know what that may very well be true, but why is it that our WR's seem to drop them when they mean the most.
I dont care about just the bad passes, i look at the ones made, and the ones that could of been made, and the ones that were dropped. And overall, i say there were more good than bad. Just like WE ALL saw last week, VD dropped that TD, then that would of had him for over 300, and 3td's.
Today, i say two key drops and its crazy that it's with the same receiver. When Ginn lost that bomb, when alex got rid of it with pressure. (1 td lost). The second one in the red zone to Ginn, both hands touched the ball, over the outside shoulder, and he couldnt bring it in. Also, on a key third down try, Edwards seemed not to even know the ball was comin his way. And actually i liked the throw because Smith anticipated and threw it to a spot. If Walker would of caught that pass, and just turned around, another Key first down.
We cant keep saying it's ALL on the QB. And in those moments when everything breaks down and as we say the Good Qb's do, he tries to make a play, and today the WR's gave no help.
Was the playcalling suspect at times, yup. Ran when we should of passed or passed when we should of run definitely. O line a lot of breakdowns, and when they did hold for 3 to 4 seconds something was always wrong.
Drops have plagued our team all year IMO, and whether our QB throws em all good, semi good, or just alright/almost horrible, they just dont show up consistently on a weekly basis, making those plays that we say, "And thats what im talking about". I bet give me any Proven # 1 WR from another team, and i can assure you they make at least 1 of those Td's that was thrown to Ginn today.
Or that 4th and one play, that IMHO, he did get two hands on the ball, and i thought he actually did bring it in. Some said it was thrown too low, or out of reach, but i tell you what. I saw the same thing, but converted when Skelton got out the pocket, and threw low to that WR and he caught it on the ground on his knees for a first down.
The QB makes the WR look good and the Wr is supposed to make the QB look good. Think Skelton really would of killed us if he didnt have Larry. I think, not
Very good post.
Agreed. Everyone needs to chill.

Ugh! I'm sooo disgusted by this loss! It's the freakin Cards! If we play as poorly in the redzone as this in the playoffs, we might as well hand the Saints or Packers the win on a silver platter.
Funny how the refs couldn't get a replay of the challenge flag that was 1-2 seconds late AFTER the Niners snapped the ball and converted on the fake FG for a first down. Someone in AZ stadium is to thank for that.
Sooo many mistakes in our passing defense, missed tackles especially. What did we do right? Gore ran pretty well and our D got three turnovers. But with the game on the line, 3rd and 1 & 4th and 1 and we try to pass BOTH times? C'mon Harbaugh and Roman! Run it down their throats and get a first down before passing again. We still had two minutes left.

Probably, huge momentum shift. Also, numerous times I seen the clock stop/run when it shouldn't have. Are there NFL guys up there or are they local stadium workers? Not just pointing out in this game but in a lot of games for a lot of teams I have seen bad clock work. Funny how a game that can come down to seconds the clock operators seem to have their heads up their butts.

Because they're big dicks are making them look too far ahead into January, instead of focusing on the remaining games that must be won.

And they are 6-7 and not going to the playoffs. We lost to Dallas because we were stupid. And Dallas lost to them because they were stupid. When your coach screws up in a critical moment, sometimes you lose the game.

This is true. We must convert TD's in the Red Zone or we are f***ed

* Akers missed what would've been the game-winning FG.
* Offensive Line allowed an embarrassing amount of sacks.
* Alex tried to make some plays and yeah didn't get much help, but did not play well. Ball did NOT come out fast enough.
* Defense? What defense. Nice job getting roasted by a pathetic QB. Big play after big play given up to a garbage team.
* Receivers (RB, WR, TE) - WTEFF today. Braylon is playing like a joke. Ginn drops another and in another play can't find the ball. Delanie.. NO ONE around you and you drop what would've been a first down? Kendall Hunter drops a critical 4th down pass. I mean COME ON.
How did your stop watch experiment go?

These remaining games are similar to preseason for myself. I actually hope they rest gore, willis and anybody else that is a little banged up.
