ARI offense was getting hot the past couple of weeks. We just slapped them in the face and shut em down. If it weren't for Rogers dropping an INT into Fitz's hands, it would be a shutout.

Whats up with our pass rush lately we haven't been getting to the QB at all. Im kind of worried that our D line is getting tired.

Irony of that is that the knock on Rogers had been that he did not make the picks when he was in Washington. Until yesterday he had put that behind him. Hope he returns to form. He should have at least batted that pass down.

The 49ers sent three pass-rushers 6 times vs. Cardinals, and sent four all the other times. They never once blitzed.

My guess is it starts between Ray Ray and Justin Smith. They get good push and collapsed. But Ray Mac isn't 100% back from the hammy.

Originally posted by HearstFan:I was bummed with no shut-out. With the way the defense played, a "0" for the opponent would have been a nice statement. But darn, Rogers lets an INT go right through his hands and land in Fitz's arms for a TD. That would have been six takeaways. A game of inches!!
I think Alex Smith looked WAY more comfortable running the offense and even improvising a bit to make plays -- a la that "blind" throw to Kyle Williams for the TD. Then again, he threw the INT in the end zone also -- which brought him back down to earth a bit. LOL. By the way, on that INT, Staley was down field blocking, pretty sure that would have been called back with an illegal man downfield anyway. (?)
Going off of memory, but I think staley was eligible on that play. He was also kind of hiding the lb, but that's from the cameras perspective. Oh well, good of alex to get his bad throws out of the way.

We havent blitzed much all season but our guys were just beating guys. The past 3 games we only have 4 sacks and one was because the QB dropped the ball.

It's easier to beat teams early when the OL hasn't gotten a lot of game time reps. Add that RayMac probably isn't 100%, and we still don't use Aldon a lot. No point in doing anything exotic if it isn't needed. I have a feeling we may see some new stuff this week and probably against Pitt.

We demolished them in every aspect of the game. What the hell are you talking about?

Seriously. Yesterday was an embarrassing game for the Cards, they had their asses handed to them!!! We may have only been up 9-0 at the half, but 9 points would've been a miracle for them the way we were playing.

Some peoples concept of demolish are different. We had an opportunity to put away the cards earlier that would have let some of the younger talent have valuable playing time, like Dobbs, Kaep or Tolzein, our OL, etc. that would have allowed players to also rest since we have a short work week. Only Gore was rested so that Dixon could play, they kept Alex in there just in case, that means we didn't demolish them in my book, yes we dominated in TOP and other categories but the score doesn't reflect the stats. I don't want a Morgan like incident with any of our players if possible. We are 9-1, but with 6 weeks to go, I rather they put things bed early and avoid those unnecessary issues.
