Hopefully this is one of those guys that surprises.

At least it's a position of need.

agreed. just better talent on the board.

I hear this every year, and every year people somehow manage to be wrong. Just because you think a guy is a better player or can be a better player doesn't somehow make it true in reality.

I found this and it looks pretty good!

LOL, even Desean Jackson would call him a lightweight.

According to SI, NFL.com, ESPN, NFL Draftcountdown and just about every site has him going in the 3-4. Mayocock didn't like the pick but he always bashes the Niners. 6'1" 199lbs and a sub 4.4. Hopefully the can coach him up, he certainly has the intangibles

The San Francisco 49ers maneuvered within the third round before addressing their need at cornerback with Chris Culliver, taken 80th overall.

Culliver, from South Carolina, is a former receiver with good height for the position (6 feet). He also suffered from injury problems in college, including a torn pectoral.

"I like him; he is a press corner," draft analyst Rob Rang said. "One of the concerns I had was he was a corner-safety tweener. He is athletic enough to play corner, but wasn't as physical as you would always like. I thought Seattle might have some interest in him as well, but I thought he might go in the fourth round."

Not impressed with Van Dyke.....Raiders took him because of his speed, imagine that

His scouting reviews are not great for what it's worth. Doesn't seem worthy of a third rounder to me. Baalke's grabbing all his picks early.

At this point all this guys we have took have great athletic ability/potential etc. I think Jim is confident that he will coach these guys up and turn them into steal.
