Why do you think that they did not tender Franklin? Are they that convinced that they can get RJF up and running and performing at Franklin's level? Or are they going to go in a different direction?

He's got more than 5/6 years in the league.

Same with Spikes.

Possibly a hint of what the 49ers are thinking in terms of the draft - but a tender wouldn't cover him, he would need to be franchised under the current CBA to have any control over his future.

not a bad move. it's a smart financial move.

Why wouldn't a team do this? Just curious. I assume you have a limitied number of these cards?

Give me Manny/Quinn, Spencer/Namdi, Palmer and Kapernick/Dalton/Ponder

That seems very reasonable.

As awesome as it would be to get Asomugha, I don't think it's happening. I heard somewhere that he wants to go somewhere that is superbowl ready and I heard them discussing Houston as a possible fit today on NFL Network.

Man, how the hell can any niner fan bag on Spikes. Dude was probably a top-10 inside 'backer last year, and that's just based on pure on the field analysis (not taking into account things such as leadership).

Spikes/Willis/Smith

The heart of our defense, all great players and full motor football players.

Just like Harbaugh would never want to come to SF.....F those guys. I dont believe anything they say (Though it sounds reasonable). I think half the time they are speculating.
