However, I would put Gabbert slightly ahead of Newton, but either would be great.

A lot of this depends on the CBA though, the ruling on restricted FA would have to remain the same, and it would have to be signed after the draft, with the Niners would have picked both QB and OLB with premium draft picks. A glaring need at CB would put everything into motion. Then it just comes down to actually signing him

have peterson fall to us and draft him
trade for palmer or mcnabb will be satisfied with either
this equals playoffs if we get all of training camp in

trade: Kevin Kolb or McNabb (Finally have a legit QB)
draft: Von Miller (Hopefully strengthened pass rush to compliment seconday)

We do that and championship.

Kolb is extremely overrated. His stat-line is worse than Smith's. I compared the two on my blog: http://bayareasportspodcast.com/2011/03/16/the-trade-market-the-good-the-bad-the-ugly/.

Sorry, if this is considered spam, but I am tired of people discussing Kolb as a legitimate option. If he could be had for a 3rd round pick, then I could see his appeal, but Philly is asking for multiple first round picks for a QB whose greatest success in the NFL was being drafted by Andy Reid.
