I'll keep it real simple ------ Jed York is as accountable if not more so as the rest of the group for the decisions he has made since being in charge.

Not sure why he'd get a pass. He deserves criticism for hiring Mike Singletary, one that set this franchise back at least a few years.
By all mean he gets no free pass, but he is a kid and it sounds like he knows that he smurfed up. There has already been some changes.
It's not like this kid is the TUNA that has been doing it for 40 years, he is really young and learning.
Which means we are in an exceptionally bad situation as a franchise because of it...
All I know is that today Jed York was asked if he was quailifed to make this hire, and he replied "yes". You can take his word for it, or you can look at the history of decisions he and his parents made over the last decade. His parents are still very much influential in the decision making process, and over the years they have ruined this franchise.
If you judge Jed York post December 2008 when he was hired as Team President, then you can say he's only made one huge mistake in hiring Mike Singletary. People keep saying he's smart and he loves the history and tradition of the 49ers. Well, there are probably a thousand webzoners that fit this criteria. Youth and inexperience should not be cited as an excuse for the poor decisions made regarding football operations.
If your qualification for making a GM hire is, "I talk to my uncle Eddie and the Krafts," then holy sh*t we are in trouble. All we can do is pray that this guy gets real lucky and makes a perfect hire. At least he has enough sense to know how to get out of the way, once the coaching staff is in place. What's worse than a clueless, inexperienced owner? An owner that meddles.
