Why not?
We fired Mooch when we went 10-6 and won the division.

Yes. And it is done on 4:30 pm 1/2/11 immediately after the last game. No need to look at the film.

Then hired the brilliant Dennis Erickson. Since then the 49ers have been bottom dwellers.
May as well get it over with and fire him now...... Its not a secret that he's not going to be around next year..........

Jed might not fire him no matter what, so if he makes the playoffs it's a no-brainer.

I totally agree. As long as Singletary as at the helm, we will continue to run the 1985 Chicago Bears-style offense, which is a waste of time considering the weapons we have at WR/TE. Also, Dennis Erickson started to whole demise.

This thread is irrelevant because we're not going 7-9, 5-11 sounds about right and the number 8-10 pick assuming no lock out next year.

Unless you're happy with being a losing team that go into the playoffs on sheer dumb luck, yes you would fire him.

...and after he won a playoff game (one of the best comebacks in playoff history, btw)

If they keep Singletary the medieval ages continue. This organization used to be Super Bowl or nothing. Now we're supposed to get geared up for two 3-7 teams in an "elimination bowl".

Making the playoffs would be Fools Gold and should not be considered the benchmark of a successful season.
If the 49ers somehow managed to make the playofffs, which I doubt. They would become the least deserving team in the history of the NFL to make the playoffs.
Regardless of what the team does for the remainder of the season, Sing needs to go.
Sing has been exposed as woefully unqualified for an NFL head coaching job.

The 9ers have won three games in spite of the stubborn mind of Singletary. If they win any more, it will not be because of the "dynamic strategy" of our head coach.

Fie on Singletary by all means! Fire him as well.
