Singletary cut Nate so Alex wouldn't have to look over his back. Nate has played well during the pre-season and showed promise. Troy is playing well I'll give him that but he is being compared to Alex Smith.
Nate Davis did not play well in the preseason. He blinded you with one off target 60 yard pass.

EHHHH!! wrong answer...troy IS doing something that nate doesn't which is comprehending the playbook and finishing his games after going in fully prepared.

these are the same wr's that alex had but the main differnce is that 1. he doesn't turbo-checkdown and takes the downfiled shots and 2. puts the ball where the receiver can get it.
he still has a lot to prove - namely consistency. but nate had his shot in exhibition and failed. maybe later if he continues to grow but for right now i think we're better off bankin on troy.

You're crazy Nate played well. He moved the offense every game. That's why you me and everybody on this site was calling Davis our QB of the future. The point of the matter is this shouldn't even be a post yet. It's way to early people here are talking like TS is Brady or Manning. Remember who TS is being compared to A Smith and Carr (BUST and BIGGER BUST)

nope not i. at least not any more than troy. it was stated by the staff and backed by beat writers about his preparation or lack of. and are you hearing what people outside of the organization is saying about smith? leadership. what else can you ask for?

Nate didn't get a shot. Sing cleared everybody out so sensitive Alex Smith wouldn't have to look over his shoulder. Why did we get ride of Shaun Hill for that very same reason. To tell you the truth TS will be fighting an uphill battle next season, since Sing and Mike Johnson will be gone although Johnson mite be retained as QB's coach.

Nate got his shot and proved that he didn't want to make the effort to learn the offense. Shaun Hill was shipped out so they could bring in a guy that wouldn't have to change the offense for. The manlove for Nate Davis is unreal. The guy can't even tell his left from his right and you people want him as the starter even after Troy Smith came in and is lighting it up. There is no way in hell Nate Davis does anything like that, at least not yet. He is like Alex Smith, he needs 6 years to learn the playbook

This guy is comparing a Heisman winning QB who took his team to the BCS championship to a 6th round flyer out of Ball State who has a learning disability and is on the practice squad, untouched.
Just think, the friggin Panthers, starting Tony Pike sunday and who signed Brian St Pierre over signing Nate Davis for nothing. That says something for this supposed gem who is better than the guy who just won two games and lit up the Rams.

This is what I'm saying I am very happy with TS play. It is an upgraded at the position. When you say people outside the organization you are referring to the Ravens where he came from rite. You are jumping the gun man

Montana, Brady, Manning, Rivers and Brees never won the Heisman college and pros are a different animal. You can't tell me you weren't hyping Nate Davis because your hyping TS like this. Again TS is playing well lets jus see what happens.

I think we will see a different Nate davis next year in training camp, especially after he gets to watch Troy play.
Troy throwing it deep, has made our short pass plays open up a little bit.

lets not forget that troy had to win this game with all the penalties called on the line. he shoulda had like another 100 yds passing. sorry alex. your services are no longer needed.
