But as of right now, he's the 49er's best chance of going somewhere.

With the Seahawks losing, it makes for an interesting stretch towards the end of the season.

he missed on 7 passes out of 19 for 196... not great, but not bad at all.

more importantly, he didn't throw a pick or fumble and he managed the game well enough to seal the deal without a DOUBT!

This thread is a joke. Alex Smith is HORRIBLE and SOFT, he always has been and always will be. You stupid moderate/soft 49er fans who always say "well if he had this... if he had this... he would be as good as Peyon Manning." GIVE ME A BREAK. Troy Smith should start OBVIOUSLY. Alex Smith should be working at a fast-food place, he has no talent as a Quarterback.

Troy Smith should start. He looked confident and relax in the Broncos game. I have supported Alex Smith for awhile but I think Troy will do a much better job then Alex. I know it was just one game...but did you not see this guy avoid some sacks and make plays? Alex would of thrown the ball out of bounce. With Troys speed, the opponents will have another thing on there mind and that is Troy rushing for some yards. Also Troy has a lot of time to practice considering we're in a bye week.
