Carr.....1.5 million?

How do you pay $1.5 million for a well known commodity like Carr in the off season, and then when you need a back-up to Smith decide that he won't do the Job? What, do we run a charity or something? I am not a Carr hater, but the guy never, ever played that well. Why not cut Carr and bring up Nate Davis to #3?
