I am so sick of this crap...throw the bank at Coach Gruden.

Agree
Every single f-ing phase of this team has had a hand in the cookie jar this season. There is no single person, coach, or position to blame. It's EVERYONE. The sad thing is you can always see it coming.

The difference between this team and the more successful teams in the league is this: When bad things happen to good teams, someone steps up. If the O falters, the D or special teams makes a play. And vice-versa and so on and so forth.

When the 9ers make a mistake, seems the entire team goes into the s**tter.

Face it. This team is poorly coached.

The HC is an emotional tornado who blows up at the drop of a hat.

The offense was designed in a sandbox by a mental 7 year old...if that.

They hired a pass rush specialist and the pass rush has all but disappeared.

The defense gets beat on the same kind of plays week after week and blitz schemes look like they were designed by the 7 year old twin of the guy who designed the offense.

Yes, players have to make plays but any reasonable analysis of the fundamentals of this team reveals that the coaches have not done a good job.
Alex Smith is the best QB in the NFC West but we are still winless.. just to let u guys know, so u can stop blaming all this bs on Smith bc it is the team as a whole.. after 5 games and 3 games under Raye (horrible play calling) Smith is the number 1 rated QB in the nfc west.. not the best numbers.. but still..

To be honest I can't wait for Alex to go someplace and light it up. Because hey guess what -- those REAL NFL coaches will know that putting him in the shotgun 50/50 will play to his strengths. Alex looks pretty damn good in the shotgun, or with more than .5 seconds to throw the ball.

On any other team Alex Smith wouldn't be starting. Let him go to any team, Shaun Hill looks better than him and has a winning record. W is what counts and you guys tend to always have excuses it's been 6 years already he's done!

Man I'm not in any way excusing his play. Where did I say that? All I'm saying is that if Alex was on another team -- the coaching staff there would utilize his STRENGTHS. Unlike our coaching!! Shaun Hill looks better? Sure he does... Why? Because they gameplan to utilize his strengths. Tell me this -- and be honest and unbiased -- does Alex Smith look exponentially better in the shotgun?

You're arguing with a brick wall, re-enforced with sound cancelling insulation.

Alex Smith operating out of the shotgun is what he needs. Unfortunately our head coaches are too hardheaded to realize that.

I've already accepted that fact. I just wanted to see what Norwalk thought about it.

who cares what Norwalk thinks? This guy has been rooting for us to lose so Smith will be benched for the last few years.

But yeah, I can't wait for Smith to go somewhere else and light it up. I think a team like NO or SD would like to have him as a back up in case one of their guys got hurt. NO plays in the shotgun a lot and Turner was his coach here and really liked him. Or maybe he could go learn behind Manning in Indy, they play out of the shotgun a lot. I think a lot of teams would like to have him as a back up, or would like to take a shot on him. When we were playing on MNF Gruden praised him a lot and liked him before the draft. If a QB can do what Smith did tonight with the 300 yards and 3 TDs they have talent. You just got to use it right. He'll land on his feet.

There was a reason Shaun Hill told the guys on FOX earlier today that he couldn't wait to get out of SF. We have a crappy motivational coaching staff rather than a cerebral coaching staff who outsmarts people and uses their players to their strengths. Our coaches don't use their weapons right and they don't understand how to adjust. Why keep running Gore over and over again when he's getting 2 YPC and has 2 fumbles? Our defense is terrible, and DeSean Jackson said on our post game show they had an easy time getting open down field because they saw we were playing our safeties close to the LOS. Our organization as a whole just f**king sucks.

Alex Smith SUCKS! AND Gore look OLD! See I did it again!

Sing should have "rested" Frank after the 1st fumble. Frank has not broken a f**king tackle all season!

I Knew Alex was going to throw that pick in the last minute! Told my wife "even thought everything has played out for us to win, watch Alex f**k it up!" And Boom "The Pick"

I think "The Pick" should be remembered like we do the 'The Catch", a moment that all forty niner fans will never forget, the moment we could all finally agree that ALEX is cursed!

Alex at his best is average! when he is back in the spread, calling audibles and completing passes, he looks like an average NFL qb, thats all average!

Sing=Done!
Alex=Done!

The fans tonight showed great restraint not throwing garbage on the field, but I guess more garbage on the field would be redundant!

Yea, we need a f**king pass rush too!

Done for now the f**king pissed to write anymore!

Do you notice how the majority of the posts bashing Smith and expressing their hatred are highly emotional and void of logic, and most of the posts defending his play tonight are basing their arguments on logic and observation?

Just sayin...

f**k that, I've watch, played and coached football since 1972! and I tell you he is a bum! All of his supporters can take their damn lies and statistics and shove them deep were the sun don't shine!

Maybe you guys haven't seen great or even good Quarter back play in so long you mistake Smiths flashes of Average as flashes of greatness!

I like the kid I think he has talent, but he lacks something you can't find in numbers other that wins and losses, he lacks luck!
So you want a "logic" based argument? SMITH lost again, wins are the only stat that matters!
Some you just don't know football. If you can't see what philosophy works for our personnel, it's pretty obvious. This smashmouth, run-first mentality has got us into a 0-5 hole. What stinks most is that Alex and the rest of the team is better when they are not playing under that philosophy.
Yep.

our whole team plays better when we go shotgun spread or pro offense with no fullbacks only problem is coaches dont see or do it till 4th Q

This post pretty much explains itself...

Just so I understand you. You want me to take me statistics and observations, and shove them. And then you want me to listen to the angry opinion of some guy on the internet.

[Dr. Evil voice] "Rrriiiiiighttt."
Gore = OVERRATED.

Fumbles too much. If Dixon knew how to block, if you used him and Westbrook, you can't tell me you wouldn't get the same numbers and better ball protection.
I really don't see how Gruden and his WCO helps things. Gruden has yet to develop a QB, winning with old vets. His offense is very complicated, usually taking a good 3 seasons for a QB to get down. His temperment alienates players.

I will say I like him as a dude and he is a real coach, but I don't think his hiring will turn the team around or anything.
Whew. Good thing Singletary will check this thread out when he logs on tonight!
