the waiver pick-ups will cut one or two of these young guys. They will be looking real hard at DBs. Robinson is going to love hanging out at the Pike's Place Market.

This was the deepest draft in along long time, for us to nail our picks says something for our scouting. Kudos to Baakle.
While I agree that most the picks are looking good, I think we should wait until, at least, a single regular season game has been played. Let alone an entire season.
Well yeah, but for not one of them getting cut or placed on PS. It says somrthing. I cant think of one team that has claimed this.
Have you researched this, or are you just assuming blindly?
blindly as always, Im to drunk and lazy to research....

kudos to both sing and baalke - seems that this is the first draft that sing took ownership of since becoming hc....post S McCloughan era....the collaboration paid off with the type of "football players" they scouted and drafted...let's see the dividends play out over the three years....go niners!

Even a UDFA made it too (Brock), though he should probably keep renting, and not go house hunting just yet
throw in a couple 7th rounders from '09 (Taylor, Francois)
and a couple more UDFA's (Boone, Briggs)
Nice work Gents

they all provide good depth, but looks like all 3-7th rounders will be asked to be Special teams stand outs in year 1:
The 49ers have lost their two best special-teams players from a year ago. Scott McKillop, who led the 49ers with 31 tackles, is out for the season with a knee injury. And the 49ers' most surprising cut Friday was Michael Robinson. Robinson was special-teams captain and Pro Bowl alternate the past two seasons.
So how do the 49ers plan to replace those two players?
They will look to rookies Taylor Mays, NaVorro Bowman, Anthony Dixon and Nate Byham for major contributions. Also, more is likely to be expected from returners Tarell Brown, Reggie Smith, Curtis Taylor, Delanie Walker and Diyral Briggs in the kicking game.

But I thought the most interesting thing was Cody Wallace, Michael Robinson, Jason Hill were cut. You build teams IMO in that 3rd-5th round area. Thats a 3rd and two 4ths who did nothing for our franchise....
Then throw in Glen Coffe (3rd rounder) left our team and McKillop (5th round) got injured. That is way to high of attrition in important rounds of the draft...
From 2005-2009, only the following mid rounders are still on our team:
2009
QB Nate Davis (5th)
2008
Reggie Smith (3rd)
2007
Ray McDonald (3rd)
Dashon Goldson (4th)
Tarell Brown (5th)
2006
Parys Haralson (5th)
2005
Frank Gore (3rd)
Adam Snyder (3rd)
By my count, McCoughlan found us 2 starters in his 4 years of drafting in the 3rd-5th rounds. Not very good.
That's actually 5 years (not 4). Only 2 starters out of 19 picks in rd 3-5. Plus if you add in rds 6 and 7 and he only found one other starter (Josh Morgan). That’s only 3 starters out of 33 picks in rds 3 – 7 in five years. (Plus Haralson probably won't be starting for long). Not very good . . . but the McC devotees still love him.

I wonder how often a team retains all of its draft picks on the 53-man roster?
Does anybody know if this is a rare occurrence in the NFL or not?

A phenomenal draft for Trent Baalke. Unfortunately he is setting the bar of expectation too high for the fan base. He will never be able to duplicate that again. But he is 10,000 times better than Scot M.
Somebody please explain to me why he was behind Scot M. on the depth chart for so long?

and then why Sing was behind Nolan? ha ha j/k.
I dont think anyone will step up and block as well as M. Rob did on kickoff returns. But I like the thought of Bowman and Mays stepping up on ST's.
