VD & Crabtree Exchange Harsh Words and Have to Leave the Field

Anybody in medialand who thinks Crabtree doesn't care, or is some diva, is an idiot. This is a kid who cried during OTA's last year because Singletary wouldn't let him practice. That is hardly diva-esque. And, according to reports through last year, he has been nothing but a hard worker since he signed the contract.

The media hacks who have a grudge against Crabtree for the contract dispute last year, like Rome and Florio, are feasting on a non-story, because they know that mindless fans will gravitate toward the story, inflaming old passions. It is a pathetic attempt to stir those who are the least common denominator.

Is Crabtree supposed to cry this year because he is injured? People react to the frustration of not being able to play in different ways. Maybe Crabtree is trying to stay relaxed, and maybe it appears he is aloof.

Where were the coaches and trainers when this drama was developing? If he has been cleared to play/ practice, why haven't the coaches put him on the field before it could piss anyone off

Essentially a variation of my speculative thoughts, MD. This is a complete non-issue. I hope VD's remarks deflecting all the media nonsense put this to rest.

Davis' comments make it clear; he sees Crabtree like family, and made his feelings known to him based on the things he perceived. The "I'll take him to Smoothie King tomorrow" comments further solidify the complete minimality of this incident. It's nothing. Media should drop this now.

Can someone explain to me the origin of Crabtree's limited media availibility? Was it part of his contract or is it the team's choice to limit access to him?

He just seems to be a quiet guy and the team seems to be honoring that.

He said he spoke to a couple of Niners who got released today and asked for some more info on the whole Crabtree-Vernon flap.

It started after a drill in which Davis missed his assignment. After Davis' foul-up some of his teammates started razzing him about it . . . including Crabtree which is what finally set Davis off.

Did Crabtree talk s**t about Smith and Davis called him out on it? All WRs should support their QB, but maybe that happened in practice and caused their little "spat"
