Here is my list.
1= Patrick Willis
2= Taylor Mays
3= Dashon Goldson
4= Takeo Spikes
5= Justin Smith
6= Nate Clements
7= Michael Lewis

Tell me if im missing someone

WE ARE SOME M'FNNN BEASTS!!!!!!!!!!
Goldson is the hardest hitter. Followed by either mays or willis. Hard hitter doesn't mean better football player. I'd take a sure tackler like willis over a hard hitter any day.

Ask Hasselbeck and Brad Smith and see what they say about that.

that is exactly.. Willis was hit Brad Smith that was s**t and look like a scared it.. Brad Smith was almost dead.. Willis is s**t to hit hard mofo.. Willis is very strong for tackles.. AP can't beat to hit on Willis. I saw that AP would to hit on him but Willis was tackle with him so hard.. I nocited that AP was shocking and f**k suprised it!! Haha.. Go PWillis!!

Sure it looked like a good hit, but if you look closely, Ellis is running full speed and is off balanced. Alex hits him pretty good, but it looked a lot better than it really was, considering Ellis was blindsided and didn't see it coming. Any QB could've made that hit.

lol i love when Alex Smith does something its "Any QB could've ...."

Well then gtfo a niner fan site if all your gonna do is try to discredit and hate on our players. a good hit is a good hit even if he was "off balanced"

"Alex hits him pretty good,"

I'm not hating on anyone. This thread is about ranking our hardest hitters. If you think Alex Smith belongs in the hardest hitters catagory, than that's your opinion.

If someone is running their full speed and someone else blindsides them, like Alex Smith did, it doesn't take much force to knock someone off their feet. I don't think Alex would want to be in the "Nutcracker" with Greg Ellis, where they would be face to face and have to go head on. It looked like a bigger hit than it really was. That's all I'm saying. So take a chill pill dude.
1)Patrick Willis
2)Mike Iupati
3)Justin Smith
4)Takeo Spikes
5)Dashon Goldson
6)Vernon Davis
7)David Baas
8)Nate Clements
9)Taylor Mays
10)Whoever the "wedge breakers" are on special teams Kick-off

Well said. Often the hard hitter fails to wrap up a guy.

Ronnie Lott was my favorite dynasty era Niner, mostly because he was the hardest hitting SOB that I've ever seen play the game...when he connected.

Unfortunately his trademark horizontal spearing dive at the ball carrier's belt would occassionally miss and result in an extra 10 yards to the play. Again, I'm a front row Lott fan, but even I'll admit that there were frequently times when the sure tackle would've been preferable to the murderously hard hit.

That's who I am talking about. Jennings can bring the pain.
I like the list but i wouldnt agree with the order theyre in.Willis first. I would have nate, goldson, and mays then lewis.V. Davis, J. Smith, T. Spikes. Clements will smack a muthafu@ka, ask Steve Smith after our 07 meeting with the Panthers, or Jason Witten after our 08 meeting with the Cowgirls. Willis/B.Smith&Hasselbeck, Goldson/B.Wells, Mays/that dude from the Vikings, V.Davis/whoever it was that he peeled back on with that devastating block last season. Lewis/QB blitzes. Spikes & Smith/ RBs & QBs.

Agreed. If any QB can do it, how come none ever have? They haven't because it is kind of foolish to do that. Alex was definitely in Ellis' view, but I think Ellis just wasn't expecting the QB to go fullback on him. I think the original post was meant to be as kind of a light hearted remembrance of that sick and rare hit... If you thought it was meant to say that Alex was a great hard hitter then you really need to turn up the sarcasm meter.
