too much dancin! He'll correct that. He's got deceptive speed. I didn't think he was gonna be able to get around that corner on the TD. Impressive!

If Dixon learns all his blitz pickup and other responsibilities, then he's going to be a very good backup to Gore. I think Westbrook will add another dimension to the backfield if he's healthy, too. A nice set of RBs for now and the future.

Yup, Big Dix was doing the Barlow shuffle instead of hitting the hole hard. Some of those losses and 1 yarders could have been extended to 3 yards if he would have simply hit the hole with some authority.

San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon(notes) -- The only rookie back with more rushing yards than Bell through two games (151 to Bell's 132), Dixon was pushed into the spotlight with the abrupt retirement of second-year back Glen Coffee(notes). Dixon, whom the 49ers took in the sixth round out of Mississippi State, fits the team's profile perfectly -- Mike Singletary loves smashmouth football, and at 6-foot-1 and 233 pounds, Dixon is the right fit
. He reminds some of former San Francisco back Kevan Barlow(notes).

MaioccoCSN: 49ers RB Anthony Dixon averages just 3.5 yards a carry, but he leads NFL in preseason rushing by 51 yards over Houston's Arian Foster.

dixon took that swing pass from carr, and had 2 defenders in front of him, and put a move to get around them for nice 6 yard gain,,,looked like a move of a guy much smaller

Tony Dixon!! We need to chant TD! TD! TD! everytime he get's the ball. Could really become a sweet chant if the whole crowd gets into it at home games.

49ers rookie RB Anthony Dixon has changed to jersey No. 24 -- same number he wore at Mississippi State. He wore #33 in preseason.

Damn, this could be a bad-luck move, #33 is a blessed number in San Fransisco at the RB position! (Even Tony Parrish managed to get some good mileage out of it!)

24-San Francisco-GOAT-Willie Mays. That number will always be special in the City.
