I like the signing but I think it should have been longer than one year.

However, I understand the reasons why they didn't sign him for longer. They want to know they aren't overspending for his services. He could could be injury prone and after JJ, I don't think they want to get caught with a contract they have to eat if and or when they find out that he's going to be riding pine for the bulk of the contract.

Still a 2 year deal would have been better imho. I'm tired of this team having to scramble to get guys re-signed. 6 players are coming up due soon. That's NOT good. Marathe should already have had these guys extended, as far as i am concerned.
