Public reactions to Jed York.

i agree. that conference was pathetic. I seriously hope he doesn't f**k this team over by his judgements & so on.

Gotta stop lumping Jed in with his Father. Jed seems to genuinely care about the team rather than looking at it like an Investment. He could of came out sooner and squashed the fire but he made a promise to Scot and kept it. Then he answered all the conspiracy theories on power struggles... etc.

If Scot's personal issues got in the way of his job performance then it doesn't matter if it's the week before the draft, you let him go. Who knows what we have now... it could be a fresh perspective rather than the dinosaur draft mentality. Allowing us to pick up fan favorite Spiller, or Thomas.

Just remember the Niners got caught for tampering under SM... tampering...end of story.

We are not privy to everything that transpired to cause this seperation, nor is it our right to know personal information on Scot M. So, for fans to vilify Jed and the Yorks in general, or second guess a very tough decision, is inappropriate and pointless. The Yorks are not complete morons and surely knew that making such a move so close to a very important draft was not advisable unless absolutely necessary. Some of us just need to chill and see how it all plays out.

I never said I don't like him. Just that it's pointless to whine about not getting him as GM. The reason not to give a damn that he isn't our GM is a.) he was regarded as a total failure as GM in Seattle, and b.) (this one is mainly my issue) we don't need a 60-something year old GM.

BTW he's not even the GM in Cleavland, he's the team president and they hired a new GM to run the personnel side of the business.

Yah ownership sucks but whats the point about complaining about it. Its not like we can make them sell the team. If we still go and watch game and watch tv then there is no point about complaining about ownership.

Coaches, GMs, players are something that can be replaced. Replacing ownership is not easy and usually only occurs every few decades if it all.

They guy turned 2 franchises into perennial winners who, coincidentally, were always kicking our ass. Just look at his track record:

I agree that his GM stint in Seattle wasn't the best, but he had way too much on his plate by trying to do multiple jobs.

He loves San Francisco and has very strong ties to this team so I personally think it would have been a great risk to take and let him take over at whatever capacity he wanted to this year.

As to the age remark. Who cares as long as he still knows how to win? Experience weighs much higher than innovation IMO (if that's why you would justify with youth). The game is not evolving into something these guys haven't seen before or at a rate in at which they couldn't adapt to.

We will see how much of an impact Holmgren truly has on the teams he is on if he turns the Browns around. I expect him to be 3 for 3 after he is done with them.

If anyone heard the interview on KNBR, Jed was talking about going door to door to promote a new stadium. Sorry, but that says a lot to me about his dedication to the job.

For all the people who hate on Jed York, look no further than the Cardinals. Bill Bidwell is known for being the cheapest owner in the league, but as soon as he handed the reigns over to his son, Michael, the Cardinals started getting better. Dont lump him in with his Father until he has earned that. At this point, he has said and done things the way I would hope an owner would. I am a fan.

His GM stint in Seattle was his only GM stint. What he did as a coach was great, but just like every coach a lot of it has to do with the situation he was put in.

As I just mentioned, he's not the GM in Cleveland. Now that they have a GM his role will be much like Jed's is here. Not all that involved in day-to-day football decisions. He obviously doesn't want to be a GM or Browns ownership doesn't want him to be, OR HE WOULD BE.

San Diego you need to just chill out. Just enjoy the games for what they are. You know and I know that this team will never reach the level that they were but thats life. Im sure you wife or girlfriend dont look the same from when you met her. Stuff changes, just roll with the punches.

You have two options:

Either keep complaining about ownership and drive yourself crazy.

or

Find a new team root for them.

As of right now, imma wait to judge Jed. Did they know Scotty was gonna bounce months ago? Any hints that he might leave? I believe Jed did what he could under the circumstances. Time will tell....but seeing everything from the outside/a fan's point of view....time isn't on our side.
