Actually That's why its called an alternate jersey. In an alternate jersey you don't use one of your primary colors. You WANT the uni to be different.

for a classic team like the Niners, an alternate should be based on a throwback/past jersey

let the crappy, douchey teams with no history like seattle and arizona go all bat-f**k oregon-style nike crazy with their sh**ty designs

I hope these guys don't f**k up what is a great looking SF uniform. Their supposably going to alter all 32 teams uni's.

I don't know. From the article it does sound like the teams have final say in what they can change. At least, that's how I'm reading it.

I sure hope so, i like the uniforms they have now there's enough retro styling to show its a 49ers jersey, but not to much where it looks like a whole new team.
