Could have been a combination of Smith not trusting Crabtree and the Niners respecting Tracy Porter.

Need to run some of those bubble screens to Crabtree. We ran one Monday night but it was to Morgan I think it gained 5 yds or so.

Everybody is talking about our four turnovers. We had five. When you snap the ball over your quarterback it's essentially a fumble. When you give up a safety it is worse. You've given the other team two points already and you have to punt the ball back to them. Lee had to punt into the wind and the Saints ended up at our thirty-five or something. Loss of possession, giving up points, and putting the other team in scoring position. Brutal.

Wow, what an incredible insight! You mean it is important to avoid turnovers and manage the clock appropriately? Should we get on the horn and tell all the coaches in the NFL about this discovery? Or just Singletary?

The fact that Singletary seems to go out of his way NOT to discuss Crabtree...ever? I think that's justification enough that he does not care much for the guy.

Come on now, this is the NFL filled with men killing each other on the field, not some estrogen induced lifetime drama bickering Melrose Place saga of gossip. Sing is the man, and even if he did hate Crab, there is no way in hell he would jeopardize the team and or his job and tell Smith not to look for Crabs. If so, why is crabs even suited up? Sing would've demoted his azz a long time ago. Sing is a hall of fame stand up guy, respectfully known to be an ultimate team player and leader amongst his peers on the field, off the field and in the hall where all the busts talk to each other. Albeit, his coaching needs more improvement, but he is no b*tch holding a hissy fit mean girls type grudge.

I'm sorry man, you have no proof whatsoever, and maybe crabs doesn't get the ball, because so far when he's been getting it thrown his way he hasn't really produced like the other receivers, obviously omitting the one catch he pulled in on Monday. Once the rapport with Smith and Crabs gets better, he'll get more thrown his way.

Seriously, this theory is just plain silly. Singeletary, for all his faults, is not some loon who will advance his own agenda to "punish" someone over the interests of the team. As much as we want the Niners to win, he wants it a 100 times more.

I don't know why Crabs is not getting the ball, maybe it has a little something to do with not getting enough reps, and barely knowing where to line up? Call me crazy.

i honestly think Smith is scared to throw it down field. He did it a few times on Monday, but I still think he's scared. He'd rather throw it short to the RB. On a deep pass attempt to davis, crabtree was one on one with the DB. Yet smith still threw it to Davis who was double covered.

Could it be that the WRs have trouble separating from CBs (lack of speed)?

That is part of it. Speed is the major reason Ginn was signed here.

While I have no delusion Ginn will solve the problem, it is a hopeful sign that the front office recognizes that lack of speed is a problem on offense. They recognized it was a problem on defense as they drafted Mays and Bowman, both of whom have excellent speed for their positions. In the long run, that will help the defense solve a major issue. Now they must look for a WR speed guy in the 2011 draft.

Isn't Kyle Williams pretty fast? He looked quick as hell on the few kick returns we've seen him in.

You're not crazy. It is ALL about getting reps that develop timing. Against Seattle VD had to tell Crabtree where to line up on a couple of occasions. Until stuff like that is no longer going on, Crabtree will not see the ball coming his way as much as he might like. It is just the way the game works.

Yeah I agree, this is similar to what happened with VD when we first drafted him. He didn't get many looks! First round pick?? needs to be throw to more than 2 times! Im sorry! I did watch smith and one of his flaws on monday (which might be do to past poor protection) is that he checked down tooo fast to shorter routes! Not necessarily bad, but he needs to let the WR run their routes and anticipate the location where they will be open like peyton does! I think he will get there, but its just kinda frustrating, seeing a playmaker not get the ball!

Ask any WR, especially the divas, they're wide open on every play.
