It was a tough loss...because we all know we should've won. But, it shows we can play with the big boys...which is why Coach said, we'll see them again in the playoffs. We controlled AP better than anyone else has so far...we made some plays...in the end, it wasn't quite enough because we gave Favre that last chance and he burned us on it. Lesson learned...next time, finish it off. The team has to let it go and focus on the Rams...

Not since we were good and expecting to win every game..... I know it hurts but here is the silver lining.....
I realized that we are on the verge of expecting to win every game again where the losses haunt you all week til the next game
Its the big bright light that we are almost back where we want to be.....
Its awesome that losing makes me want to vomit all week again.....
I know its a weird way to look at it,,,,
I feel the exact same way. The last 5-7 years I expected us to lose and was pleasantly surprised when we won.
This year I expect us to win (even on the road) and when we didn't today I was seriously hurt. Today's game was REALLY painful.
Thats what I am saying.... in the 80's and 90's
After a loss I would be sick and depressed for a week....
Recently it was like I was expecting us to lose so whatever....
I am starting to get the same feelings like it was back when we were good
Agree 100%, it messed up my whole day.
I am also avoiding Sportscenter because I don't want to hear about how much "heart" Favre has...9 out of 10 times that pass is incomplete. AHHHHHHH
19/20 is more like it.
I would even say 99 times out of 100.....Favre said he threw to "an area" where he thought the receiver would be. If the ball were thrown a foot in any other direction, the pass is incomplete. Fluke number 1....
The receiver only had a general idea of where the end line was and if his first foot down is a single inch or two to the left, it is an obvious out of bounds call. Fluke number 2...
Then there is the officiating call itself.....which was questionable at best. Fluke number 3....
I didn't see one angle (and I looked several times at every angle) where I saw a clear "green patch" between his shoe and the end line. By the way, Lewis' shoe is black on both sides so it may appear that there is space between the white on his shoe and the white end line but there wasn't! Also, his first foot down was clearly not held in bounds when his second foot came down so it should have been called out of bounds then....but obviously wasn't.
Basically, the stars had to align for that play to work in the Vikings' favor..... I agree with Sing....give the officials credit and move on....

As soon as we did RUN RUN RUN PUNT with 1 minute and a half left, I knew then and there the game was lost. Favre always beats us.
Reminded me of the loss to the Bears in 2001 when we were WAY up, then started playing soft and lost it in overtime when TO alligator armed the ball right to Mike Brown.

Yea it was a pretty crappy loss but we can't really blame it on 1 thing... if we would have played better we wouldn't have been in that situation. The bright side of it was that the Niners played hard and almost (should of) won this game and actually outplayed the Vikes without arguably our best player in Frank Gore.

WHY DID THEY NOT CALL A PLAY ACTION ON THIRD DOWN???? Cant u just tell ur quarter back to take a sack instead of throwing it to a non open reciever????
If they plug up 8 men in the box, ur certian to get a receiver practically wide open on a dump off or quick out... if not, just take the sack and then punt...
Thats what i would have called....

Don't mean to brag and this isn't an indication of the level of my faithfulness, but I was stunned for about 30 seconds and was back to normal.
The Vikes wanted it more than us...that last inch...we didn't. They won. We lost. End of story.

This loss really sucked; yes it's been awhile since a loss stung this bad. I am over it now and looking forward to bouncing back against the lambs.
The silver-lining here is that we more than proved we're for real and we can match up in anyone's house. I'm feeling even more confident; despite this one.

C'mon guys, we have to be just like the guys on the team and forget about losing that game. Let's focus on the Rams and not let their pathetic excuse of a team beat us. The team has to overcome this loss, and if they don't and lose to the Vikings, then we'll be spiraling down from there.
So let's move pass this loss!

just watched the play again and if Ray McDonald keeps his motor running, that last play doesn't happen. He's out there just kindda lolly gaggin. Didn't even put his hands up to block bretts vision. Just someone else to blame for what could of been.

Just had to post that again, huh?
McDonald got stoned at the line, and lost all his momentum.
Looking at it again, that was an incredible miracle play. Just turned out perfectly for those f^()(*&%*(%kers.
Just sucks for us.
When do we get our next big moment? Last one I remember was the come from behind victory against the Giants in 2002.
