Doesn't really matter seems how he is not the starting QB. This is just another coulda shoulda woulda post. nobody will ever know because well guess what, Smith didn't play in those two games.

That's what I'm saying.

you are acting like Hill has been accurate this season thus far.

I'm gonna say no.
Alex lost the starting QB job to Shaun, right. That would mean that Sing and J-Raye think Hill gives us the best chance to win. These two experts, know more about winning football games then us armchair GMs.
Since Hill is better and we didn't blow-out either team, it's safe to say that Alex would not have done as well to bring us back or get us in position to score; therefore, its likely we would have lost at least one of these games.

I somehow doubt we would be 2-0 w/AS. Alex seems too timid and appears to play scared where Hill plays with more grit and guts than Alex.

I think Smith played like that in the past. He played with confidence during the preseason. like Singletary stated, Smith has matured as an NFL QB and player.

When Alex goes up against a D like Hill saw in week one against the cards, he gets flustered and makes bad decisions with the ball. Hill did not.

As far as the talent level being the same as it was when he last played...anyone that thinks it is the same (or worse) needs to take a minute and try to regain their touch with reality. Hill didn't outplay Smith this preseason, in fact he mostly looked worse than Smith, and he definitely has not lit up the world to this point, he hasn't even looked as good as he did last year. I give him credit for not making mistakes to this point, but Smith could do everything that Hill has done to this point and probably more, and may be the better long term option of the two. I just hope he keeps on working with the QB coach to get back into game shape. Like it or not Hill barely won the starting spot from a guy that had been out for 18 months with a major shoulder injury, and kinda got it by default. He surely didn't play any better than Smith, in fact, he looked more confused than Smith in the second preseason game. If Smith is so bad, then why couldn't Hill blow him away? The answer is that Smith is not as bad as some of you proclaim him to be, some of you guys are just knee jerk reactionaries that are predisposed to wildly overreact to even minor occurrences.
Your argument is flawed because in a lot of those situations, Hill came in to replace Smith/Dilfer and succeeded, is the SAME system and SAME format that both of them could not. Now please dont argue that Hill's 5 years on the bench (with a total of 2 snaps played on the field) were invaluable to his development as a player.

I'm not going to bag on Alex, but I don't thinks so to the above quote.^

No, we'd be 3-0 if we had Alex starting and had signed Crabtree already.
Actually, we probably would be 2-0 because our offensive game plan is to hand the ball to Frank. I think Alex could get that done.

Now that I think of it, we'd probably be 2-0 with Robinson at QB. He was pretty good handing off the ball to the RB at Penn State.

Thats odd because he didn't seem to do that in any of the preseason games. Nice assumption though

Hahaha! If Alex was so good in the preseason, than why did he lose the job to Hill?

Props to Hill for winning more convincingly. He has a more talented team around him, to be fair though.
Alex is talented & has a lot of upside. I hate how much venom people have for him in the Bay.
I personally have no venom for the guy, but do have sympathy for him. I have absolutely no confidence in him tho. IMO the poor guy is damaged goods, and like a car thats been in an accident, he will never be the same. I n this case, his driver totaled him.
