I believe Bruce dropped 2 passes and Vernon dropped on easy pass.... so that's like 3 completions right there....so could've been 22/26...but coulda shoulda what ever...fine game
I have a feeling we are going to be passing it alot more next week.
We will have to.
I don't know if we are good enough to get movement against that interior of the Vikes consistently. Raye need to call a more consistent game. The Vikes have an underrated secondary too.
We really need Shaun to have his head in the game.
Shorts and screens won't get you by every game. I'm sure after the first 2 the Viks know what is coming.

This game was not as close as the score suggests. Aside from Gore's two TD runs, our offense looked pretty crappy. (We did move the ball better than last week, though.) There were still some real headscratchers in the playcalling.
Oh, and eff the Wildcat.
Shaun Hill just looks so acquired in the pocket. I mean I understand he's a great game manager, but couple that with the awful and very weird playcalling that's just a bad combination. Thank God for Gore and our Defense.

We got lucky on those two Gore runs... we are getting zero push on run plays. This is my personal number one worry for the season. We need to have 2 yards be the minimum, not the maximum if we want to continue winning and have confidence when it comes to 3rd/4th and 2.

Please explain how those plays were lucky?

He didn't seem as jumpy this week, but it looks like he does not have the ability to recognize when to step up into the pocket.(Which is a real problem).

That 1st long run wasn't luck. There were 8 people in the box. There's no luck involved there.

The run blocking looked horrible last week, although much better this week(2 79+ runs is almost luck rather than skill), I still don't see a solid run support either way. We have a bunch of tough nosed defensive lines to face upcoming in this season. So, we won't always have the same success as we had today. Not sure what to make of it, but I feel as though we may not have the passing game needed to win this division(If Dilfer is out a while I think we can go game for game with the Cards though). We need a real deep threat and a QB who can make those passes, which we for sure lack at the moment.
Again this is a great start!
Why is this guy spamming the same thought in every topic and even making up his own topic to say the same thing??
Haha, I feel like an ass. However to my defense I made the topic first it was deleted and merged with out me knowing. I copied and posted in a more appropriate thread, then edited it after seeing it was merged. The Dilfer thing is just me drinking with my buddies watching the game or whatever and posting. I still think of Dilfer when ever I see Hasselbeck drop back. =(
On topic: We still don't have a passing game.
Off Topic: Don't drink and post on the internet.

Noted, but after 2002-2003 can you really be sober and watch a Niners game? =(

Vernon Davis needs to get the ball more. Two catches is not enough. Period.
Jonathan Morgan needs the ball as well.
Bruce dropped two big catches.
Our defense is awesome.
The Vikings won't need to put 8-9 in the box to stop us from running. Their DLine is great, much better than the Cards' in fact. And their O is better than the Seahawks. I'm nervous that Shaun Hill will need to make plays consistently to stay with them. He may be exposed as merely a "manager".

Offense still doesn't look that good (cant expect two 50+ yd rushing touchdowns every week... would be nice if we could though!), The O is better then last week, so lets hope we see equal improvement next week! I think we got close to the max points this offense will score per game. B-

On the first long run, Moran Norris blocked two guys in the hole and that turned out to be the only guys with a shot at catching Gore.
Norris was the unsung hero today...or maybe not so unsung, since we are talking about him.
